DI3 (Im back O_o) - Wonderless is Wonderful

Once spain and aztecs fold it will be downhill from there. The only thing holding us back is the time to get to the front. Once cavs come online it is over. Woould be nice to conquer with Sams though.
 
Save: DI3-650AD

Preturn: We are No.1 in score and power, and 2nd in culture. Our military and economy are in a MUCH better shape now.

We are researching at 30%. That's right, we want the tech pace to be slow so samurai can rule longer.

Spain is the tech leader and has Astronomy/Music Theory on us. That's great, we surely can get those techs for free.

Maya doesn't have saltpeter.

Our peace treaty with Korea has ended, so it's time to take it out.

I see a French settler? I guess that's because we built it in an ex-French city?

Korea wants to renew RoP, and I decline.

Paris sam->market. Kyoto sam->sam. P'yongyang sam->sam. Valencia temple->courthouse. Huexotla temple->courthouse and let the clown work. Poeple give us double expansion.

(1)570AD: I declare on Korea. There are several Korea archers inside our territory. At Huexotla 1st archer loses to archer, 2nd archer wins, sam wins and promotes. 6 sam move next to Pusan.

At Matsu sam kills spear, captures settler and promotes.

IBT our GA ended. Net gain dropped almost one half. :sad:

(2)580AD: 1st sam retreats, 2nd sam loses but redlines vet spear, 3rd sam kills reg spear, 4th sam kills reg spear and promotes, 5th sam loses to 3-hp elite spear, 6th sam kills 1-hp spear. Still one elite spear inside.

IBT Keep building sam. Izumo sam->Aqueduct,

(3)590AD: Elite sam attacks elite spear and retreats. 2nd sam loses to the elite spear. 3rd kills a vet spear and gets our 2nd leader. I immediately build an army. The elite spear is a trouble. Will take it out next turn with the army.

Found Sapporo to claim the horses.

Two sams take out Teayo from Aztecs and it has iron.

IBT Matsu riots.

(4)600AD: I joined a healthy sam and 2 injured sams into the army and it kills the elite spear with only 1-hp left! :eek:

IBT Aztec and Spain sign peace. Greece builds SoZ. We can build Heroic Epic but we are not allowed to.

(5)610AD: Pusan falls. We can drag Spain into Alliance against Aztec, or we can finish Spain first. I decide to do the latter.

Spain now has navigation as we can trade WM. Germany gets Music Theory.

Now the question is do we still want to stay at war with Aztecs? I say yes for now but turn all our military against Spain. I'll take out one more Aztec city. (We are really close to its core and our next war should be much easier)

(6)620AD: We capture Atzcapotzalco and lose one sam. It has iron so we keep.

(7)630AD: Capture Cheju and Kaesong. Freaking Korea has one city in an island in the north, and we dont have a boat. OK, let you live longer.

Aztec has Music Theory.

IBT Metallury due, I set max to Mil Trad due in 7. This is the last tech we need. I don't trade Metallury to anyone.

(8)640AD: Start galley in Satsuma. Will rush it soon.

IBT: several Korean cities riot.

(9) 650AD: I hire 3 scientists in Pusan and MilTrad due in 5 instead of 6.

I'll stop here to fix the turns.

To next leader:

We are ready to take out Spain. We have sams in Atzcaptzalco (including an army), Barcelona and Avignon. There is an army in Pusan that will be fully healed next turn too. We need some defense in Sapporo.

The first city we need to take is Vitoria as it has iron (but once we are at war Spain wouldn't get that iron anyway). Not sure if Spain has any other iron, if so, send an army to pillage it.

We probably will lose Grenoble, but it doesn't matter.

We have 3 sams in Chartres which can be used to take Jaen (in the east).

Yokohama is build a galley to take out Korea. We are not in a hurry though.

WW hasn't shown up yet, but we could always revolt to Monarchy.

Once MilTrad is in (5 turns), we can set one scientist on research and use all the money to rush things.

Got it but will have to wait until tomorrow night. Was happy about Korea surviving. Hopefully we can finish them off but Rails are REALLY nice and Korea's free tech may help us with that.
 
If we want rails, let's start another game after this with the sight on spaceship or something.

DI –650AD – Have a look around and fix some minor rioting. Love the MT in 5. I’m going to continue this skirmish with the Aztecs and when MT comes in hopefully take out the Spanish. I begin by seeing there are no deals with the Spanish going so I cut their iron by pillaging 4 of our roads. It says they still have iron but Iam looking and don’t see how. Nara rushes it’s court. I send our army out to pillage Aztecs. Send a couple sams to Grenoble for when the war starts. Rush the Barcelona temple to get the wines away from Isabella.

IT – Spanish complete the Lighthouse. We make quite a few builds. I am emphasizing sams and I really want a slew of settlers.

[1] 660AD – Pillage 3 times at Tlatelolco. I think it is unconnected. Rusha couple items to prep for settler production. I’d like to take those islands in the NE. That’s some good tile count. Korea still won’t talk. Set a newly acquired city near the front to barracks for up grade coming. Going to rush it when we’re at 1 turn to go. Streams of Sams heading to front.

IT – A few builds.

[2] 670AD - Korea has a galley up near our undefended north along with their town. I’m going to send a force of 5 sams up there for border patrol. Sams moving into place. Whats with our warrior Bubba on a greek hill watching some fighting. That’s funny. Power seems to be shifting into the Greeks favor. We may have to give Otto some iron and get those 2 fighting. Pillage 3 Aztec capital tiles.

[3] 680AD – Some got Metallurgy and traded around to everyone but Egypt. I’m taking Astronomy from her to be able to build explorers. A load of them rushed out of corrupt towns can wreak some major havoc pillaging. Pillage Capital.
IT- Build a couple settlers. Give Korea peace for 9g. Going to go settle his islands.
[4] 690AD – Aztec capital cut off. Attacks begin soon. Turn down the juice for MT.
IT – MT comes in, set to Physics with our scientists. Spains wines disappear due to our expansion.
[5] 700– Upgrade a load of Sams but not any elites. I still want to move the palace. Malininco falls to our sam army that was pillaging. It has a barracks and a harbor. Keeping both for growth and healing. Our expansion allows me to threaten Spain but she declines the war invitation. I’m declaring next turn when cavs are ready to roll. We’re doing 229gpt.
IT – Expansions, temples even a couple cavs are built. We get a palace expansion.
[6] 710AD – Move units around. I demand 100g and she gives it. I declare. Move up to Madrid with a SOD and kill the Conquistador so, if she hasn’t already, deny the GA.
IT – A slight miscalculation on how many conquistadors she may have had loses Matsu to an attack of 2. We’ll be getting it back. Barcelona riots. Spain signs Germany up against us.
[7] 720AD – Elite Sam gets Matsu back. Madrid time. Elite sams win 1 and then pop a leader on the 2nd. Go with cav now. Madrid falls losing 2 cav and promoting 3. The Collosus and Leos, BURNS! Spain is split in 2. Kill 2 crusaders going elite with 1. We burn down Murcia. Losing an archer. Germany gets theirs when I sign up Greece against them for 2 luxuries. Loading caravel for Jap islands. Spanish town of Jean has a 4 sam visit next turn.
IT - Spain signs Greece against us! Those turncoats.
[8] 730AD - We take Asturias, set to temple. Take Jean. Damage Zaragoza down to a LB. Vitoria is damaged too. Caravel sets sail with 2 cav and a settler, however, my haste not moving 1 square at atime lands us right next to a German galley. Up the lux to 10%.
IT – Spain declares on Egypt! A load of cav come off the line. Bubba beats a horse, an archer to go elite but then loses to a horse.
[9] 740AD – Vitoria is captured losing 1 cav. Zaragoza is captured cleanly. Moving on Toledo and Pampalona. Seville and Santiago can be swept up by incoming troops. We’re heading to the front. Land next to Germany on their island in our NE
IT – No attacks.
[10] 750AD – I was wrong, we have enough cav right now to take Seville and burn it and Knights Templar! Pampalona is captured , set to temple. Toledo is damaged and should fall next turn. Burn Germanys new island town Bonn. Settler moves up to catch whale.

There are settlers migrating towards the front for plopping down in gaps. The island in the NE is ready to settle. The LEADER is just out side of the city I think we should move capital to. It should improve corruption. Once Spain is gone, we can take it to the Aztecs hard. They did not give me any trouble whatsoever. There may be an archer outside of our furthest west town, Malininco. I forgot about him. there are 3 sams there and the sea lane may be open to upgrade

I can't believe this is happening to me! :mad: The first set of warmonger turns I get and I'm still having problems with C3C. As much as I want to play this, I'm gonna have to ask for a skip.

I enjoyed my sloppy turns :) I had to play quick and the turnlog isn't very good.

Pre-turn - Looking good, rush a couple of settlers and cavs

Hmm, should we really build the Palace with that leader. I think palace is in the category of wonders, like FP. I rather use him for another army. And I decide I will do exactly that, it will speed up the domination somewhat.

760AD - We take Toledo, it has the Lighthouse and is burnt to the ground.

770AD - Move troops to aztec borders

780AD - We take Santiago and Spain is gone.
I give iron to Egypt for 19 gpt and 171g plus alliance against Germany :)

Rush some temples and courts

790AD - Aztec city Malinalco flips.
Wl attacks Tlatelolco next turn

800AD - We take Tlatelolco without losses, think a second of razing the city, but it's a decent striking point against Aztecs and we have to starve the city.

810AD - Take (renamed) Talco
Try to take Tenotichlan, kill 6 pikes, have to continue next turn to burn down this atrocity (5 wonders!)

Talk peace with Greece, send them against Germany and Aztecs for Invention.

820AD - We take Tenotichlan and burn it to the ground, we get 6 slaves.

830AD - Plop down a couple of cities

840AD - Haha, the greasy Greeks sign peace with Germany and declare war on us :)

Take the city Cempoala and 2 slaves.

850AD - Take Malinoco, raze it and get 2 slaves.
Take Ixtapaluca.

I leave it there. Set up attack on Tlacopan next turn and Texcoco in 2 turns.
We have an army and a few cavs that can take Tepexpan in a few turns.

Rush temples and fill in with settlers. Shortrush for faster cavs, e.g. longbow and back to cav. We can afford it.

We have 45% of land and 50% of population. This is almost over dudes :)

We have 533g and make 247 gpt.

They did the same thing to me! I think for their insubordination we should bond with Egypt and sweep up the NE side of the continent and take out a piece of Germany and fully take out Alexander! He is dead meat in my book!

In that case, after this game completes, I'm going back in one the 850AD save and exact some personal revenge on him. He killed Bubba too, don't forget. I wanted him to get booted so he could come back to palace. Also, for grins I'm opening up the 750 save tonight to see what the new palace would have done if we would have used leader for it. I'm sure the Army is the better choice now that we have the upper hand but I want to see the difference for future reference.

(1)860AD: take out Tlacopan and keep it. Troops to Texcoco and kill two longbow. Why lux 10%? 0 seems fine..

(2)870AD: We capture Texcoco and get 16 slaves.

IBT Greece drops a horseman next to Hakodate.

(3)880AD: cav kills the horse. Capture Tepexpan. Lose two cavs and capture Teotihuacan, Aztec capital. I keep them. Aztec only has 5 cities left.

(4)890AD: autoraze German city Tlaxcala and Stuttgart.

IBT Teotihuacan disposes. Expected, lost one cav.

(5)900AD: Several Greek horsemen appear and we get 4th leader. Cav army! Take back Teotihuacan. Sam army captures Tamuin. 4 cavs capture Tula the new capital. Aztec down to 3 cities.

(6)910AD: Chalco and Tzintzuntzen fall. One city left.

(7)920AD: rush a bunch of temples.

IBT Egypt attacks Aztec spear in Calixtlahuaca and promotes it. Greece and Egypt MA against Germany. :lol: What a betrayer.

(8)930AD: We capture Calixtlahuaca and Aztec is history. Oh we get our fifth leader.

IBT Greece wants peace but I say no. WLTSD everywhere.

(9)940AD: WW has completely gone. Nice. Capture Konigsberg. Germany still has 8 cities.

(10)950AD: Kill a Greek horse and capture settler. Sam army kills hoplite and pillages Germany's only connected saltpeter. It then continues to attack Munich and kills a musket and promotes. 4-hp elite cav attacks Munich and gets our 6th leader. Another 4-hp elite cav takes out Munich which has Sistine. OK raze it! Only 7 wonders in the world now.

Summary: captured 10 cities, razed 3, and got 3 leaders.

We have 53% land and 61% pop. Looks like finishing it before 1000AD is hard. But in 2 turns we'll have major culture expansion.

We have a bunch of settlers going to the front line. I also set a bunch of towns to wealth (especially those size 1). However I do build a temple in every newly captured city first and rush it in the next turn.

Nothing else. It's just a matter of time. I think this would be my last turn.
