This has not yet been polled...
We will be playing a 5BC, meaning 5 built cities and 1 city per enemy

Note: Poll is open for 4 days and is public

edit: Sorry, I forgot Abstain

One thing for discussion:
Should this be weighed? As in the same way it was done on the 5BC poll, we start from the top end and find 1 more than halfway.... I am sure people voting for Sid would prefer Emperor over Monarch

We should stick with the Monarch-Emperor Range in this game.

No weighing the polls please .

Don't weight the poor thing: it might not be able to stand the stress. :p

Seriously, though, the poll will run best with simple input on the subject. Speaking of which, I think monarch's the way to go. Some of us are stepping into unfamiliar territory with this variant.

Moderator: Please change my vote to emperor, even I can win a 5CC on monarch, and that's saying something

Moderator Action: Vote changed.

[puts on unofficial organizer hat]

On the question of how this poll should be scored, we will use the "spectrum" or "cumulative" method. Scan the list from one end (either one), the first option to get a majority is the winner. If there is a tie then we need a runoff poll for the two middle options. Abstain doesn't count.

Very interesting. In cumulative voting terms it now stands Monarch 10, Emperor 10. The mathematically correct answer (if there were any precedent for weighted averaging) is Emperor at this time, given how many votes are way out there at Sid level. :wow: The Sid votes would be almost enough to skew it out to Demigod.

I agree with Oct to the tenth power.

Seeing as how dominating the advantages of a Micromanaging Human player are over an AI, even with 5BC, I think Emperor might represent a "fair" game.

Some light on this.
The difficulty level in these games only influence 2 things:
1 - Unhappyness.
2 - success against barbarians.
The rest of the things it influences in a game where there is AI (AI trading, AI production reduction, AI starting units etc.) doesn't play a role as there is no AI.
That means that a "higher" difficulty level isn't that much of an impact, you just need to control happyness.

Rik - this is for DGVII, not the MTDG. Go to bed! :p

We're the people that voted for Sid joking? They should explain themselves for trying to make us suffer a humiliating defeat. :mischief:

@Own: it's 5CC. you have to remember that between dozens of squabbling civ fanatics, the best decisions are not always made. :D

No, It is 5BC. It is five built cities and any number that we have agreed upon with the captured cities. With this we could still win by domintation, if we have n unlimited no. of cpature cities.

no its only 1 captured per enemy civ... we can't win by domination...

So it's a 5+# of enemy civs CC?

Correct. Well, it's actually 5 built + 1 captured per civ. In other words, you can capture one city from each civ, but cannot capture two from civ A, and none from Civ B.
