diplomacy question

hi,

when i open the diplomacy screen with other civs why am i not sein options such as make alliances and declare war on another civ?

other civs are constantly askin me to attack other civs then im navle to ask anyone else the same thing.

what am i missing?

Are you just on the Diplomatic adviser screen? That's just for seeing relationships and comparing power and such.

To ask them to attack someone else click on the leader's name near the lower right hand corner of the main and, and ask them to trade and you will see the options.

You can't ask for defensive pacts or permanent alliances until you discover Military Tradition and Communism, respectively.

yep found it. its been a long time since i played and id forgotten it was in the trade screen.
