Diplomatic victory challenge

How early can you get a diplomatic victory in RFC, and with which civs?
Obviously France's UP will come in handy, but is diplomatic victory with another civ possible at all?

Here's my 1st attempt: France 1874

I see diplo victory as a variant of partial conquest. If you have enough vassals and votes, you'll always win, no matter how many civs hate you. In fact, in my conquest games I never choose the diplo victory button because I'll win by default if I vote for myself.

Yes, the Japanese and Khmer conquests are done with the most recent versions.

Oh yeah, forgot about Turkey. Maybe because we never saw the victory screenie posted.

by the way, are you still killing civs at the start, or are the new measures enough to discourage you?

I haven't played RFC for a while now, but if I were to do it now (say Rome vs. America), I would declare war when they appear, wait 3 moves, then decimate them.
