22. Kupe/Maori [25] (24+1) - Being able to meet everyone very quickly and the possibility to be in more emergencies is a huge benefit. The CS bonuses at the start and the military option if that is your bent means Kupe has great options.

45. Wilfrid Laurier/Canada [25] (24+1) Lily's all like "we all agree Canada isn't good at diplomatic victory", and then Canada instantly gets 5+ upvotes lol. @leandrombraz is dead on in his assessment, and all you're doing at this point is dragging this out to try to make some awful point that nobody agrees with. We're all playing the same game you are, too, so you can go ahead and stop pretending this is a result of mods, too.

Said it before and I'll say it again, this makes me look forward to the other victory threads. "Zulu's way better at science victory than Korea, because Korea can't tech when they're dead!"

I might just troll the heck out of the domination thread when it starts, lol.

Catherine/France [22]
5. Cleopatra/Egypt [27] (26 +1) 15% wonder production, Alliance bonus points. Culture bonus with Sphinx to get to relevant governments and mahabodi civics faster are all + to diplo. Always think this civ is one of the most underrated in the game actually. Can go any victory type really. But especially culture and diplo, and faith to some extent if you prioritise getting the prophet.

Lily, your efforts to take down Canada is making it stronger, it's backfiring beautifully. If you keep at this pace, Canada will end this thing in first.

I guess this thread is for "diplomatic victory", and we all agree that Canada is one of the worst for that.

At this point, you're just delusional.

It seems that many of the people here vote based on their own mods instead of real games.

Are you seriously quoting something from another thread, completely unrelated, posted by someone who didn't even vote here and using it to accuse everyone of voting based on mods? That's your move? You actually think that will fly?

Canada plays well in a proper peaceful diplomatic victory, which is much easier and fulfilling. Bonus favour from emergencies is a direct bonus, and all you are really going to need to win WC.

20. John Curtain/Australia [23] (22 + 1) Missed upvote from #158, corrected.

My vote on #158 was completely ignored by the next voter, not only the upvote on Australia. I also downvoted The Inca there. That mean the Inca should have been eliminated by @Leucarum vote on #163, so @Weraptor wouldn't be able to downvote them on #165. Considering this, @Weraptor can downvote one extra Civ to make up for the downvote wasted on the Inca

Mansa Musa gets lots of Gold, which lets him buy lots of Diplomatic Favor, which is how he can control the congress.

You know, Wilfrid actually doesn't seem very good for diplomacy. Sure, he gets bonus Diplomatic Favor for having hundreds of Tourism, but in that case, he'll probably just win a Culture Victory instead. So, that leaves two other major abilities: no surprise wars, and bonus Diplomatic Favor for winning emergencies. The first doesn't really matter. If anyway, it forces other civilizations to behave a bit better, reducing their own penalties to Diplomatic Favor. That's not good for Wilifrid. As for the bonus Favor from emergencies, I'm not sure that it really does much, either. Firstly, emergencies come down to luck. There's no guarantee that you'll have any in your game and odds are that you won't have more than one or two. So, we're talking about maybe a couple hundred Favor. No big deal. Secondly, emergencies are hard to win in the early game when the AI has far more resources than you. Unfortunately, that's the best time to win emergencies. Later in the game, you'll probably have allies that prevent you from participating in military emergencies. Overall, I'm just not impressed. If you're going to play Wilfrid, then it seems best to just spam Natural Parks and win with Culture. I don't know why you'd go Diplomacy.

As a more general note, I think the intensity in this thread needs to die down a bit. Lily plays his way, you play your way, and everyone gets to vote however they wish. Let's just have fun.

5. Cleopatra/Egypt [28]
8. Eleanor/France [19]
10. Dido/Phoenicia [24]
11. Gandhi/India [0] (2-3) Honestly, Gandhi is just an all-around bad leader. And he has no practical bonuses toward diplomacy anyway. Rest in peace.

Previous vote was a bonus one, and here's my vote for today:

3. Catherine/France [22]
5. Cleopatra/Egypt [28]
8. Eleanor/France [16] (19-3) Bad leader of a bad civ (without Catherine). Bad even for diplo.
10. Dido/Phoenicia [25] (24+1) Good gold and exploration potential. Probably more defensive than offensive as well.
