DirectX question

The game only gives me a choice for DirectX 9 and not 11 even though 11 is installed on my system. I'm running Win7 64 bit, checked my directX version using dxdiag and it's all current. My video drivers are current for GTX 560 TI. Is there something else I should check? I used to be able to use DirectX 11 on this game.

Are you running Steam or Civ V in compatibility mode?

Steam I believe. How would I tell the difference?

Also, the start screen where you select the DirectX says I need to be running SP2 or greater, and DirectX 11 option is greyed out. SP2 of what? As far as I know there isn't a SP2 for Windows 7 64bit. And I'm supposedly current on DirectX components.

I checked Microsoft Updates and I'm not getting anything to install, so I don't think it's a Windows thing.
