With the settler completing this turn, I will put instructions to start up a barracks. This will be switched once we decide if there is a better path. I'll put some leeway in my instructions so that I can override them if something comes out of this discussion that changes my mind. After a bit of discussion, I'll figure out a poll so that we can get a couple builds ready for when the time comes.

My thoughts.....
barracks (or warrior) until size 4, switch to worker, finish initial build

remember that axemen will be coming up at the end of this turnset so that is why I'm hesitant to just build a warrior since he will be quickly out-dated.

Could you post all the possiblilties and how many turns they look to take.

Possiblities (hammer cost)
Settler - 125
Worker - 75
Warrior - 18
Barracks - 90
Granary - 90

Right now we are running at 1 hammer per turn. For a settler or worker we will get 8 food added to production. We have 20/39 in the food bucket. After 3 turns of growth after the settler is built in 4 turns, we'll have 10 production for a worker. So here is what I am proposing ....

finish settler - 4 turns
grow to 4 while getting 3 hammers for a barracks - 3 turns
build worker for new city - 8 turns
finish barracks by chopping a forest and working some higher hammer tiles

keep in mind that 4 hammers will overflow from the settler build and 5 will overflow from the worker build.

Also right now we have 5  > 3 :)

So after pop 5 without luxury or religion, we will start to lose citizens to the Lazy Boy

I think your plan seems the best developed.

Darn, i wanted to start an arguement:( :crazyeye:

Nice Work Tubby Master

( i think three is the max number of govna terms?) 2 more terms, 2 more terms!! woo

Gub Tub--After rax are finished, what would you anticipate the next build to be? We don't want our citizens to get angry so can we chop a settler to capture the much needed copper? It seems our science minister will not be headed down the Iron working path.

I'd like to start an axeman. If we can't build one of those then I think that the settler option is a good one. I'd rather use the chops for hammer builds since we have a ton of excess food that we can use for settler/worker builds.

I hope that the minister of Interior cedes the new worker over to the other city.

The problem is we need that copper north of the captial to start axemen. I don't think the border will expand over it or will it?

without having access to civ4 at work I can't check and the screenshots/turn summary from CG was slim. So I'll have to check tonight.

If we can get copper then I'll definately build an axeman. If not settler seems the best option as a worker is not needed as bad as it was and a granary is pretty useless right now. I'd rather not build any more warriors since we will have axes pretty soon.

Yeah I saw that and I also noticed how BW is not building a worker like I instructed after growing to pop 4 [pissed] .

It looks like we already have 2 cultural expansions so I'm not sure when the 3rd one is due.

Edit for continued thoughts:
So it looks like the barracks will have to be delayed further than it already has because we will need another worker.

The culture is a long way from the next expansion. So a settler might be better than a worker so that we can get that copper sooner.

Any thoughts?

Tubby...

I would agree on another settler however is ther a place to put it without overlapping to many tiles of Boaring Wallow.

Is there any other copper in our area, that might be more appropriate to plant a settler nearby. I do not see many screenies.

Here is a screenie with my proposed site. I think that there is going to be some overlap with the cities so I tried to minimize it. This site would also minimize the desert tiles to 0. I might could be moved one tile west so that another city could be squeezed in NE of BW.

I'm thinking that I will alter my instructions so as to get the settler build started up.

I must say I'm not too happy about the barracks situation.

Has there been any discussion with Civgeneral about what the problem was? Should we ask him in the turnplayer thread?

I'm trying to figure out protocol here.

I think that we could accuse him of a crime. Not sure what that means. I've already posted in his instruction thread but there has been no response.

I'm wasnt' going to persue a judiciary solution and am trying to ignore him since he is still ticked that he couldn't muster enough votes to give me a challenge in the gov. race.

As far as protocol, I guess you would post a note in the Judiciary thread.
Here is the protocol to get the ball rolling
Spoiler :
Citizen Complaints
Citizen complaints are used to determine if a citizen has violated a rule. They may be requested by any citizen in a post in the Judicial thread. Except as noted, the Justices must act in a fair, impartial, open and speedy manner throughout the process. All citizens are innocent unless determined to be guilty. Citizen Complaints shall be completed by the end of the term, unless the Judiciary finds this to be impossible, in which case the next term’s court may finish the investigation. All evidence, except foreknowledge of the game, must be presented publicly. Evidence of foreknowledge of the game will be reviewed by the Judiciary, and a statement about that evidence posted. Once that evidence becomes irrelevant due to game progress, any citizen may request it to be posted.

Any citizen who is the defendant of a Citizen Complaint shall have the right to representation throughout the process. The Public Defender shall be tasked with defending each citizen charged with an offense from the moment the Citizen Complaint is filed until the complaint is concluded, unless another citizen is appointed by the defendant to serve as the Defense, with that citizen's consent.

At any time during a citizen complaint, the citizen making the request may drop the request, ending the citizen complaint unless another citizen wishes to continue the process. Likewise, the citizen under investigation may accept the charges, and move immediately to the Sentencing phase.

If a citizen has been found innocent of a charge or if the citizen has been found guilty and sentenced appropriately, the citizen may not be charged again with the same violation.

Review
Each requested Citizen Complaint will be reviewed by the Judiciary. Justices will gather and look through the evidence presented, including requests for statements from all citizens. If all three Justices determine the request to have No Merit, the basis for that finding will be posted by each Justice and the request is denied. If at least one Justice determines the request to have Merit, a trial on the facts will be conducted. The Judge Advocate will review the request and the relevant law, and determine the specific law the accused citizen is alleged to have violated.

Trial
The Judge Advocate will create a thread for the trial in the Citizen's forum. This initial post should contain the specific violations and the evidence for those accusations. The next two posts are reserved for the citizen accused and the Public Defender - until they post, or 24 hours from the initial post, no other citizen may post in the thread. All citizens are encouraged to post in this thread, but are reminded to respect the rights of all citizens.

Once the at least 48 hours have passed, and discussion has petered out, the Chief Justice can declare the discussion closed, and post a Trial poll.

The Trial poll will be a private poll, with the options Innocent, Guilty and Abstain. It will run for 48 hours. The option receiving the most votes will determine the result. In the event of a tie, the members of the Judiciary will determine the result by posting clear opinions in the Trial thread.

Sentencing
If a citizen under investigation during a Citizen Complaint has accepted the charges, the citizen, the accuser and the Judiciary may determine and assign a sentence if they all unanimously agree to the arrangement. Failure to uphold that arrangement will result in full sentencing poll posted as if the citizen were found guilty in a Trial.

If an arrangement cannot be made, or the citizen was found Guilty, the sentence will be determined by the citizens through a poll. The Chief Justice will post the poll, marked as private with a duration of 48 hours. The options for the poll will include:
Suspension from Demogame
Removal from Office (if applicable)
Public Apology
Final Warning
Warning
Abstain
Other options may be included through unanimous consent of the Judiciary.

Once the poll closes, the Chief Justice will determine the sentence imposed using cumulative voting. The most severe option that a majority of citizens support will be imposed. If a Warning is issued, a warning will be posted by the Chief Justice in the Judicial thread and may be reposted in that person’s government thread, if they hold an office. If a citizen is given a Final Warning, the above procedure will be used, but with stronger language. Additionally, the options “Warning” and “Final Warning” will not appear on a sentencing poll if that citizen is charged with a similar offense in the future. If a citizen is sentenced to a Public Apology, a thread apologizing for the actions taken must be posted by the defendant within 48 hours of the close of the sentencing poll. If the citizen is removed from office, they are barred from holding that office for the remainder of the term. The length of a suspension is to be determined by the Judiciary, with the required consent of the moderators.

I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt but this is a most critical and costly error IMO. I will post in his turntracker thread and then pursue other means if necessary.

I would first suggest a PM to him, asking nicely about it.

EDIT: As a personal note - before anyone considers anything involving the Judiciary on this, what would you hope it would do? What might it cost? I think there are better ways to handle this than using the Judicial sledgehammer.
