Maybe they just have too many choices in that region to please everyone.
And Europe's too old,
Africa's far too hot,
And Canada's too cold.
South America stole our name.
Let's drop the big one
There'll be no one left to blame us.
And what, pray tell, constitutes a "relevant civ"?
European or african-mediterranean at most. Alternatively an Americas country formed post 1800
Most likely they will be in the expansion; the reason for inclusion of African and SEA civs in the DLCs was clearly to cover geographical representation gaps many (including me) complained about.
Yeah, Gods And Kings had 6 civs that fit that description, and Brave New World had 5. I'm sure Civ 6's first expansion will have a decent handful as well.
...and yet, there's a complete lack of indigenous civs of the Americas (excluding the Aztecs).
True. But there were more complaints about the lack of African and especially SEA representation (SEA representation was nil, at least the Americas had the Aztecs). So I can understand why Firaxis prioritized them, though removing some European civs from the vanilla (esp. with Macedon and Poland DLCs) would have allowed the Incas to be included at least.
...... I should've checked this thread yesterday
suddenly, leak has been posted
Probably true, but still irksome.
Well, if the Aztecs are enough for all the Americas, then surely Southeast Asia is more than adequately covered by India and China and Africa by Kongo and Egypt. I'm perfectly happy to see more African and Southeast Asian civs, but I am irked that there is not a single indigenous North American civilization in game while European colonies like Brazil and Australia receive priority.
well, Majapahit was Hindu Kingdom
Gah for once could you guys drop a game shattering reveal whilst I am awake, I mean it is not a lot to ask really ...
I mean, your intent is correct, but the Aztec are technically indigenous North American. Even if often that area isn't thought of that way. Meanwhile, South America literally has zero indigenous representation.
But that's the middle of the night for us.
Okay, final got a chance to listen to the leaked intros. Is it me, or do they sound like he's speaking a little slower than usual?
The Khmer one is definitely is a lot more explicit. Dedication to the well-being of your people, fresh water = food and faith, divine architect, war elephants. As has been said, possibly tall-skewing city builder with something providing food and faith bonuses to fresh water, and war elephants.
Indonesia is a lot more ambiguous. Something naval related definitely (both military and likely non-military as well) and maybe something faith related. But that's all I gleaned from it.
Well, fingers crossed we find out about one of them in detail in a little over 12 hours!
We're there any db updates today?
There go Burma and Vietnam, dangit. But, any Southeast Asian civ is a good thing! And two of them to boot.
Well these are what I'm assuming to be the raw voice recordings. Firaxis will work its magic for the release.
If Firaxis can continue stuffing Civs into Europe(which it will, not that its a bad thing mind you) then it can add two more into SEA.
Do we have a potential time estimate as to when the potential First Look would be released tomorrow? I know Firaxis is based in Baltimore so is there a specific time that they like to drop these videos, Eastern Time Zone wise?
It's 10am Eastern time.
