DMI VII - Team Warlords

Might as well leave Izzy around for the AI to pick on. If any of them get busy, we know who they're after and we can pile on for extra modifiers. In the meantime... let's see what the fuss is about this thing called internet.

Nice turns again Imhotep. And a clever plan about the Internet, shyuhe. I'm willing to give that a go.

Hmm ... although we revolted to HR for brownie points, that doesn't mean we shouldn't made use of it.

Moving some cossacks in would solve the redshirt problem. Just like Washington, thanks to HC:

:D

Also, we adopted Hindu for brownie points ... that also doesn't means that we shouldn't adopt a better religious civics. Our HE city doesn't has Hinduism, plus if we are going to where no one has gone before, we probably need a OR more than theocracy.

Also hunt around and deleted a fortified workboat up north :crazyeye:

After the two turns of revolts, we got industrialism. Fortunately, we have one source of Aluminum.

Note also the production of Scotland Yard in the above screenie.

Buddy Loius seems jealous of Izzy's pleasure with us:

Brother Louie Louie Louie
Oh she's only lookin' to me
Oh let it Louie
She's under cover
Brother Louie Louie Louie
Oh doin' what he's doin'
So leave it Louie
'cause I'm her lover

Well, despite the Modern Talking, Louis doesn't wanna leave it be, so I canceled deals with Izzy.

Incredibly, Washington attempted a copycat.

This dude is outrageous. 9 out of 10 for the audacity.

Against all odds, Moscow produced a Great Engineer:

and this brings about a brave new era:

And I started Apollo in Moscow and go for Radio next. If we are aiming for the Internet, we need Fiber Optics which needs Satellite/Plastics plus Computers which need Radio. Going after Computers first is always the most optimal choice, due to the unlocking of laboratories.

End of my turnset, Radio is 1 turn away. Time to stop. I have ignored Imhotep's suggestion of Wall Street. It wouldn't help us much at 70%, I would rather build some beakers multipliers first. I have, however, completed the Nat Epic in Thebes. Next player can consider farming over the towns.

Personally, despite not being in Rep, I think it is still worth it. We need 2 GP to start a Golden Age (this is alas warlords), and the GE is most likely to be used for Jack's Beanstalk. So, we need two more GPs. Good thing is we are Philosophical.

The victory screen:

I think Louis and KK had both launched some casings as well.

Impressive turns, Greyfox. I'm learning a fair bit about the late game by example here.

I'll have some time to play on Thursday, so I'll run some turns then. Beserks, if you want to go before that or after, either is fine.

Feature freeze is done and code freeze is coming up, but since I'm done with my work I'm just picking up my team's slack atm.

So I should be able to go back onto the roster ... right after you Compromise :)

I can pick this up tonite if Compromise hasn't played yet.

:bump: Any news ? :)

Yes, I still have it. Apologies for the delay. I should be able to get a new save posted here for beserks within about 6 hours. Stay tuned....

...or not. It looks like the wife will continue to need the computer for a while. Go ahead and take this one beserks.

Alright, I've got it. Will play and report tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay. I've played 5 turns already, will finish up the rest tomorrow. I didn't expect the New Years party to last so long.

Took a quick look around the cities, everything looks good. We have Boston that's starving, why aren't we chain irrigating around the city limits to get those farms within the borders provide +1 food? Well, that's what I did.

And do all those chop signs mean chop now? or chop later? I decided on the now...

Radio came in and I head for Computer next.

We have gold pop up at our capital

We got a GM, I moved him to the capital to be decided on his fate along with the GE already there.

Kublai renounces HC ...

Bella came with a request, which was quickly shot down

Computer in, Satellites next

Switched every city building research to Research Institute

Louis wants a trade, agreed

Satellites in, Plastics next

It looks like a race to space between us, HC, Louis, and Kublai with HC clearly in the lead. I forgot to take a screenshot of the space victory screen to see how far ahead HC is, but we've only begin building space ship parts.

Good work, berserks.

This--a tight late-game space race--is somewhat unfamiliar territory for me. I can play tomorrow.

Are spies of any potential use to us? Never used them much before BtS.

the best use of spies is to not directly sabotage but to destroy the production tiles in the city building heavy parts. If we're lucky, the AI will not move the produiction to a different city and it will instead let it stall at a slow production city.

Do we have a shot at the internet? Generally research is more important than production for an SS. And any luck on the PA?

No go on the PA. I checked every 2 turns, but neither HC nor Louis seem to want it ... at least not yet.

If we are trailing behind HC and Louis, Internet is definitely more useful than Jack's Beanstalk. However, once we PA with Louis, no longer.

So the question now is whether we go for FO first or Robotics. AI before BtS almost never go for Internet, so in terms of chances of losing a wonder, SE is of higher priority. In terms of usefulness, it depends on whether we would eventually PA with Loius.

Those "chop" signs means we can chop those trees if needed, they are outside any city's BFC. I actually would have saved them for space parts, since aluminum or RI would have double the the amount of logs we chop.

40 turns of DP is require for PA, so it should happen in the next turnset. The important thing is not whether Louis would sign PA or not. The important thing is the reason he quote. If he says "we do not have a defensive pact long enough", then we are on track -- it is just a matter of turns. However, if he says "We are doing fine on our own", then we better start making plan B.

If that's the case, then Louis has been say the former while HC has been saying the latter.
