Do Civ6 mods update themselves automatically if new versions are released?

In Civ5, game would (most of the time) download newest version of mods I subscribed to, if a new version was release. Does it work the same in Civ6, or will I have to somehow manually get new versions?

Steam will automatically update mods you subscribe to. But unlike civ5 you cannot choose when this happens. There is no "update" button in the additional content menu of civ6: subscribed mods update as soon as the author publishes an update unless you are currently in-game running civ6 according to "Salec" who is one of the modding developers for civ6.

I am not sure but I think running steam in offline mode may keep mods from updating.
