One problem, now they wised up and won't let you get updates unless you install the Genuine Advantage.

But you are right, never, ever let Windows Automatically update for you.

Ive still been able to update without installing WGA. Maybe its cus I havent updated in a while and am currently getting patches that are around a month or so old ( or more )

You get security updates only without WGA. Oh and Service Pack 3.
