Hello fellow Civfanatics! I have fell into this mode and I think there is a fair basis for it. I think we need to be self aware that we complain too much about the state of the game.

Even more I think I have the reason. We are obsessed fanatics. I use Civ to relax from stress and it helps me to get tired for bed. And I check the forums daily. I am addicted since Civ 3.

But I notice most of us are having crazy fun with Civ 6. I know I am. Since my purchase weeks after launch in 2016. Crazy fun despite the AI and other popular beefs.

The game is very challenging to me a life long Emperor player for maximum enjoyment. Am I the average player? If the AI was stronger I am not sure it would be fun too me. If not for me how many others would it not be fun for?

I have noticed the the AI has gotten better. We can expect it to get better and better. I am in love and we haven't even gotten the expansion.

I see the series getting better and better. Would I pay more for a better game. You betcha! I would pay $100- $300 . Will that price out some players? Maybe? I am a Civfanatic and I love the value and fun I get. So I can't see myself complaining as much any longer. Instead I say wow. I am thankful. The Devs have done a great job. Especially because I could never do what they do.

So do we complain too much? Because we are fanatics. Not seeing the big picture. Which is what Civ is kind of all about.

After much thought and experience with Civ games: I trust the game Developers to create a fun masterpiece in time.

Civilization 6 is really the worst game ever created. I only play it because my brother forces me to do so. If it weren't for him, I would play scrabble with my grandma'. Now that's a game full of thrill and excitement ;)

My favorite hobby is complaining about people that complain too much.

No. Civ 6 has the same problem that Civ 5 had in the start and the devs are not evolving.Even after 6 years they did the same mistakes(AI,unfinished game, balance problems) They simply repeat the same pattern as in Civ 5 and hope everything works out with luck!

But my complains are people who are complaining about female leaders; it really isn't a big deal and the game is just as fun.

The thought about female leaders came too mind to me organically. Not just female leaders but Civs and leaders in general. Is there any historical basis for adding one.

An then I remember Civ is a simulation of history. A game.

Plus hey variety is the spice of life!

Shirt answer: yes. :coffee:

A forum is for discussion. So I welcome the complaints. We do need to be challenged and hear other theories and ideas.

Valid points even if I think they go too far in their extremity

No. What is wrong with complaining about the same bugs/faults that were in Civ 5 at launch as they are now? AI is subpar and is worse that what is in CiV IV BtS? No hotfixes that would fix spawn bug, we had to wait for that. So on, and so on.

To complain means to express dissatisfaction or annoyance about a state of affairs or an event; state a grievance. Well, there is dissatisfaction in many of us and we want to state grievances, for example, in regards to 2K/Firaxis role in the lack of cross platform after more than a year. and the state of the AI. Now, as to the too harshly aspect, well, probably some, but then again, if one doesn't get official and straightforward feedback on the legitimate complaints, human nature usually goes for harsher methods and or avoidance. It is in the nature of human conflict.

At least it makes me happy the Dutch don't complain about Wilhelmina, wich is funny, Dutch trait is to complain, even when there is nothing to complain about, complain about the weather! :D

I think this is the nail on the head. This is a forum, it's there for discussion. Now civfanatics is huge, so modding/ideas&suggestions/strategy/multiplayer ect... have their own sections. So what does that leave for General Discussion (here)? Getting excited about new released (like R&F), complaints, asking/answering technical questions and fanboying praise. The last is not only sycophantic but doesn't open up much room for discussion (similarly for Q&A), so it doesn't occupy much forum space. In the run up to expansions and XP, there's a lot of discussion about what's coming up. But the rest of the time its mostly complaints here, but I'm not sure what else it could be?

People complain about female leaders because they don't appreciate SJWs pushing a political agenda on them. A 50% rule is just absurd and offensive. Just put in intetesting leaders and no one will complain.
