I find that sometimes buy expansions and sometimes don't. I usually don't buy expansion packs unless they come with the vanilla version of the game. Do you buy expansion packs.

Edit: whoops. I made the wrong poll choices. someone change it to "yes" and "no". pretend the top is yes and the bottom option is no

I buy expansion packs for games that I find worthy. Like World of Warcraft, I'll DEFINITELY buy an expack. But for something like Sims 2, I'll just buy the first few and then stop buying if they only add just a few items. 'cause seriously $20 for a disc containing 10 new chairs and 5 new hair styles when I can get millions of times more for free on the internet isn't worth it.

If it's for a good game that I enjoy, then yes.

Depends on the game> I bought the Exp Packs for Civ 4, but not for Sims 2. It all really depends on the game. Some games just feel finished, and an additions just screws it up, others leave you wanting more.

Yes.

But I've never bought a game thath as more than 2 expansions.

And even then, I bought all the civ games at once (minus the Civ4 expansions which I will probably not buy, I just don't play Civ enough to warrent it, I havn't even installed Civ3)

Yes, I'm soon gonna buy the expansion for Titan Quest. If I dont' own a certain game and it isn't in my "must-have" list, I'll wait until they publish a gold-version or something that has all expacks included.

Since I have few PC games, I'd say a large percentage of those that later have expansions are expansions I purchase eventually.

Thus I answered Yes. :p

Like nearly everybody else here - depends on the game. Also on what the expansion actually has to offer before I'll buy it.

Usually yes, but I'll pretend there's a 'sometimes' option in that poll ;)

If i like the game, and the add on gives new features that sound cool then i do.

Ill be at the mid night release of the wow one. (unless i grow up before then)

For the most part yes, but largely depending on the game. If a game is less than twenty hours(the vannilla game) then i dont bothers buying it period, I just borrow it from somebody, so becuase I only buy twenty plus hours games I have most if not all the expansions for them. For example, the elder scrolls four oblivion, I bought the knights of the nine expansion and the Shivvering Isles expansion, and must say Im quite pleased by them.

I have quite a lot expansion packs laying around, but that's mostly because of me always buying the gold, complete, goty or whatever versions of the games. I rarely buy games right after their release, too expensive, so I wait for those compiliation editions.
The Civ-series is the only serie of which I bought everything full price (except Chronicles, got that one for €25 instead of €75)

Price and content facotr in for sure, I bought Shivering Isles for Oblivion, even though I havn't installed it yet and havn't gotten back to playing the game again yet, I had a $100 gift card for Futureshop. I don't feel that the Knights of Nine added enough to warrent $30, so I am not going to buy it.

I do, though only if the game is worthwhile.

So pretty much, same thing as almost everyone here.

I dont know were you hail from, but here in California the Knights of the nine expansion with downloadable content included was only 9.99, even when it first came out. Its very worth that price tag, the knights of the nine quest line is insanely long and you get some really good gear, the part that blows is that you cnt wear the crusader armor unless you havnt done anything bad such as steal or kill. And if you do, the only way you can get the repetance you need is if you visit one of each of the different nine wayshires, which sucks.

The last expansion pack I bought was The Lord of Destruction for Diablo II.

I still to this day play that game.

Ideally there would be a "Sometimes" option and I'd vote for it, but since there isn't I voted no. I don't think I've bought an expansion pack (not counted Complete Editions of games) since Conquests in 2004. There's been a few others through the years - some of the Sims ones and Railroad Tycoon II - but generally I stay with whatever I got in the original purchase. I might get BTS in December as it seems unusually worthy as an expansion, but more often no than yes.

Huh, I still don't think i'll be installing it. I've got too much to sort through and need to get back into Oblivion first.

A definite yes for me. I buy few games because I hardly have the time to play (do I miss the time I was single with no kids...), so the Xpack are a great addition for me.

Let's see, my last games were : BtS obviously, Hammers of Fate for Heroes of Might and Magic V (I hear there's a new one, Tribes of the North or something) and Rush Hour for Sim City 4. And Defcon also.

I've been playing these games for the past two years and let me tell you, I don't know what the word disappointment means ;)

EDIT : And I'm waiting for a budget bundle release of Oblivion with all the extensions of course.
