Rednecks are notorious for feeling unsafe unless they have a gun. But I am in many ways, a hippie by heart so I would feel less safe in a house with a gun, however not for any logical reason.
I don't think I've ever knowingly been in a house with a gun. I imagine though that as long as I knew the people to be responsible it wouldn't bother me in any way.
I don´t know what to vote for . I have weapons at home, but not a gun. I own a longsword and a crossbow, if that counts - we are not allowed to have guns over here, anyway. Very difficult to get at least. And they have to be locked away, so they would not be of much help in those classic self-defense scenarios. But I don´t feel safer with it. But I would also not feel safer without it .
edit: damn, Kaeptn is ALWAYS faster than me.
edit 2: good thing you warn others of your dangerous use of certain letters now .
Only if I knew how to use the gun properly. Which I don't, so I it would essentially be something with which I'm as likley to harm myself as an attempted rapist. So I'm better off with a heavy blunt object. But once I learn how to properly use a gun then I'm gonna buy me a rocket launcher.
Bah I totally voted wrong...should have been Non-USAin with a gun. I already have two guns...so yeah. The mob hit not so long happened not 10 meters from my garage.
The only guns I ever been in the same house as have been old shotguns locked away, so they didnt signify either way. To get out of the house I once had to shift a policeman with an MP5 who was sheltering from the rain in the doorway out of the way. Not really in the house and also didnt make me feel more or less safe.
We need a "doesnt make me feel more or less safe" option.
Non-Us, no guns. Even though I grew up with them (Dad, uncle and both Grandpas loved to hunt, hence my love for venison I guess) they always creeped me out.
