I've never had cake at a bar mitzvah before.

I'm honestly surprised. I've been to so many bar mitzvahs, and I don't recall cake once.

Occasionally I just go and buy a cake, a happy cake I call it. One of the perks of adulthood is simply being able to buy the cake of your choice on a whim. You don't have to wait for special occasions or anything and you can pick the type you want.

Carrot, carob, banana and other such abominations become but a distant memory.

In Germany cakes are a big thing because every baker (and yes we still go to the baker)

surely you mean bakery chains?

Cake is my favourite vegetable ! :)

In Germany cakes are a big thing because every baker (and yes we still go to the baker) has little pieces of cake. Cake often doesn't come in king size over here.

Sadly it's a bit different over the border :/.

Oh, I'm actually going to bake today (again, like last week, and the week before...).

I've never been that into cakes really. Very rarely I'll make a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and have it warm with ice cream. But I've done that twice in my life and I gave most of the second one away.

Ice cream cakes are pretty fantastic though, I usually get one on my birfday.

Until one day you open a bakery which is more German than the German ones.

I can only say something like "My German scientiests are better than Your German scientists !" Yes I believe that German scientists are an export commodity  If anyone can bring antigravity to this world it is them.

I also very much like cake .... ;)

That paragraph is just oozing with contradiction upon contradiction  "I'm not into cakes, but on the rare occasion I'll bake an extremely exotic cake, and by rare I specifically mean twice, and on one of these two occasions I, the non cake lover went to so much trouble to bake it, I ditched it".

By the way, if anyone is ever required to give a speech at a wedding, keep this little ice breaker up your sleeve. "Well, it's been an emotional day for everybody, even the cake's in tiers"
