    The CivII wonder movies weren't even very good ...

    I'm glad they're gone. There's better things they can spend money and graphics effort on.

    Oh, come on... The Civ2 wonder movies were inferior to those in SMAC, sure, but they were fun anyways. I still miss Leo's... and Bach's too.

    SMAC movies and tech quotes were a good distraction. All other things being equal, I would like to have something with intellectual content.

    There were other improvements in that game that were dropped - like terraforms, self-supporting units, surrenders instead of fight to the death, etc.

    I remember visiting Mt. Vernon in Virginia. George Washington's epitaph included the lines, "O for a muse of fire, to ascend the brightest heaven of invention! A kingdom for a stage, princes to act, and monarchs to behold the swelling scene!" And I thought to myself, "Hey, that's from Civ 2!" :lol:
