Do you prefer to win by Conquest?

I like to build up peacefully as long as I can. If a civ attacks me or threatens me or somhow goes to war with me, I'll either crush them or hurt them really bad, if in modern ages more so. But I try not to start wars, unless the civ is always testing my patiences then I piss them off and get them to start a war in which case I cream them!!!

Conquest is mine.

I love by the Modern Age theres normally 7 surviving civs with me and it usually breaks down to me + 3 others fighting the rest we a few turn coats on both sides. Very fun to see the AI fighting on a global scale.

.... Until ICBMs come along and someone finally uses them, not long until global warming goes through the roof and I have to secure ROPs with everyone and send in hordes of workers to clean up the mess

I like to make the game interesting by allowing some of my cities to get captured...then return with a large arm in the Morden era and conquer that stupid civ who thought that I was weak....yes I get a kick out of it.

I love winning by anything but conquest. But if anyone or anything ticks me off they are so dead (that way I have a legitamate excuse to take their land for resourses ).

I don't normally play to the ultra-boring modern age. But when I desperatly want to win, I almost always go for conquest. I hate building. I like war! :soldier: :tank:

I prefer culture. It's simply the best way to win when you're a perfectionist and builder like me.

Shame on all you warmongerers! Try to appreciate a little peace and oh, say, civilization instead of acting like barbarians!

Good to see it is many Conquest guys out there. It seems to be just as normal as the opposite or the playstyle between.

I find it so much easier to win by conquest. I feel it is wrong not to try expanding the border at all times. I mean if you use all your resources and population producing military and win, then you can build up your civ in peace (and alone) if you bother.
Last time I played the Persians on Monarch - I had wiped out all civs around 800AD. This was on a Tine pangea map, but my Immortals were just unstoppable.

I play on the larger maps so I find Conquest a bit tedious moving the troups around! I also like to build my civ, and I find it hard to do both.
