Do you trust Maple Leaf Foods anymore?

Due to the listeriosis outbreak? I know this happened a short while ago, but I still want your opinion. Even though the owner personally apologized on TV for this, I still don't trust them.

i trust the MORE now, but not enough to eat it when theres another option (if im at mr sub i wont say "NO ML MEAT!"). i also do like how he handled it, but at the same time...it was bungled.

a) not kosher (dont keep strictly kosher, but kosher meat only at home)
b) the mccains dont eat it. if its not good enough for the owners, its not good enough for me.

Who cares? They put out millions of units of product every year, and a few got contaminated? You have just as much of a chance of winning the lottery as catching something. Besides, the vast majority of products recalled were simply a precaution, not because they were actually contaminated with anything.

People who worry about food contaminations like that are the same kind of people who worry about getting SARS. They both are nothing but a bunch of Chicken Littles, and they both wreck economies.

I brought some Maple Leaf bacon to a work-related BBQ while this was going on (ie. while stuff was being recalled) - and I totally didn't think of this crap when I was grocery shopping.

As soon as I got to the BBQ I was like.. "Ah, crap", and threw the bacon out.

I mean, it was probably safe to eat, but nobody at the bbq would have touched it.

I've bought Maple Leaf stuff since, though.. I mean.. They were safe to begin with, and they are probably way safer now..
