Does anyone believe that Babylon can win UHV now?

Don't know about Emperor, I've tried so many times on Monarch and didn't get enough population in time. Any more of your brilliant strategies for a Monarch win? :)

Although Dilli is the competitive city in population, India is not the main trouble.
Greek spawn at turn 50 with Writing and Persia spawn at turn 84 with Monarchy. One must discover the 2 techs in time.

my God. I fail at turn 85.
My Babili will just grow to 8 at turn 85 while Dilli is 7. But UHV2 is checked at the end of turn 84. what a pity.

Yes it is very annoying that even if you have the same population number but more food in stock (less food needed to grow) you fail the UHV. I've been thinking tho, if SH is built, maybe Emancipation could be used to apply  citizens for other civs?

I think i have found the strategy. So powerful is Stonehenge.

It's done. Since China can no more discover the Writing before turns 35 and often later than turns 50, now the Babylon is possible to win the UHV on Emperor difficulty under 1184. It is much easier than China or Egypt in 1181.

10 population?! Man that's insane. Also, did you accept Shush when it flipped? I read somewhere that it's better to raze it so you'll get the wheat health bonus when Persia comes (you shouldn't mess with Persia!)
Could you provide some tips perhaps? Your tips were very helpful with the Chinese and are helping me get the Indian UHV too.
Also one small thing, I really recommend you use dynamic names in the scoreboard, to me it really changes things (especially seeing the changes to your own name, how your civilization changes throughout history and stuff).

Shush is the key to win.
It is necessary to research Mystery and build Stonehenge to adopt Castle System to generate a GA to bulb Monarchy Since it is too far to research before Persia spawn. But it seems not enough time to discover Writing before Greek spawn if one researches Mystery first.
So I saved golds in the first several turns and hired 3 warriors in Turn 8. Then I rushed Shush with 4 warriors just after it grown to 2. The wheat near Shush could feed 2 artists after i build Stonehenge in Babylon to generate the GA I used later to bulb Monarchy.
I choose Code of law from Oracle to win the game earlier, but if one want to play further, choose Feudalism for longbow is better.

I usually take Shush, not only is it an excellent city that can give a great research boost, it's a nice way to keep your enemies at bay if you have a weak military. Assuming you use your first warrior to harass Delhi, I gift Shush to Asoka right before the Persians spawn on terms of peace. This gets the Indians off your back in case they try a counter attack, and if you're lucky, they'll refuse the flip and Cyrus will be preoccupied with India, giving you a chance to schmooze him into not attacking you.

I don't know how effective this is on Emperor, though. I haven't thought about using mercenaries, I've just always had to neglect a strong army for Babylon's UHV since your turns can cut it so close.

Just finished the Babylon UHV on monarch. I got beat to the Pyramids which usually doesn't happen but I didn't really need them. One thing that's very important to remember is don't research Masonry before the GA is born (and bulbs Monarchy), or he will have to bulb Monotheism which is really annoying. Aside from that I did just as you said pku and it worked, love your strategies :) perhaps you should write small strategy articles for every civ? (or every civ you have a unique strategy for).

Here is the strategy, it is not a different one on monarchy but for winning on emperor difficulty. So is the Indian strategy.
1,Found babili without moving. Save money and train a warrior.
2,Hire warriors and rush Shush just after it grows to 2.Train a worker in capital when it grows to 2. Good luck for enough warriors.
3,Research Pottery and Writing after Mystery. Capital train warrior, worker, warrior then build Stonehenge and a granary. Shush train some warriors or workers.
4, Adopt Castle System. Feed 2 artists in Shush and 2 scientists in Babili when it is about to 5. Notice one must discover Writing at the end of Turn 50.
5, Polytheism and Priesthood after Writing. Meditation is a wrong way because GA would bulb Polytheism first than Monarchy. You may need some good news from huts.
6, Bulb Monarchy after discover Priesthood. Adopt Hereditary rule and Emancipation.
7, Survive until complete Oracle and choose CoL. Give shush to persia kindly, immortals are powerful to you.

I actually decided against giving Persia Shush since I knew I was going to win in just a few turns and had enough army to defend myself, tho I'd probably do better in score if I did give it to them.

I played the babilonians on viceroy difficulty 6 times. and all of those 6 times out of 6 the chinese beat me to writing, ( i beeling it from the first turn).
Tried multiple things like building a worker first and then cottage the stone (doesnt make it in time) and let the pop hit 2 before building the worker. This doesnt help either. my only luck is that i popped the writing technology from a goody hut so i managed to finish the UHV but this is stupid, and remember this is on viceroy

I've tried it several times on monarch, and have never been beaten to writing.

Mysticism>Pottery>Writing

If you fail due to someone researching writing too fast with nothing you can do it's usually best to exit to the main menu and choose Babylon all over again, that will usually cause them to research a different tech.

In BTS313&RFC1181, Babylon can win a Monarchy game. Just research Pottery and Writing before Mystery, there still is a good chance to get Stonehenge. The most important thing is that do not train worker or settler, keep the population of Babili growing until you discover writing.

i just tried and failed, by miscalculating the effect of sickness, my people caught the plague and died. oh and a random event asked me to build like 20 libraries.

i wanted to do it.

Yes. And having writing pushed back like that makes the Chinese UHV damn near impossible now.
