Does Civ4 Colonization Work With Windows 7??

will windows 7 install civilization 4 colonization and all the other civ games?? because on the system requirements it says....
windows 2000/xp/vista but not Windows 7...

I haven't got Windows 7 myself but I'm told it includes a Windows XP emulation option. Has anyone tried this with Colonization?

Yes Civ 4 Complete including Colonization will work on Win 7, some people do have issues getting it to install, you need to install directx 9c even though the later versions and only the shortcut to colonization seems to get installed so you have to create the others yourself. You also need to run the install with elevated privelages (run as administrator). Have a look in the main Civ 4 technical support for more experiences, issues and hopefully solutions.

I really have no idea how to "create the others yourself" while installing
DirectX 9.0c, over the top of DirectX 11 which is what comes with
Windows 7. I can't reinstall DirectX at all because the setup file I downloaded
for doing that claims that a newer version of DirectX is already installed.

I am only getting this for Colonization;
all 3 versions of Civilization IV (this was in the "complete" package)
work fine.
