While I am not sure of your maths here, it does not make much sense to me to compare the pods to coffee shop rather than a normal espresso machine.50 cents or a $1 vs $7. Hmmnnn.
Coffee pods cost, IIRC, about 50 cents each. Its good enough. We're not coffee snobs.

What you need for a good espresso is a question. I got mine from Lidl some 15 years ago or so, something like this for about 1/10th of what you paid. A 15 bar pump I think is important for the quality of the coffee, but after that I think the most important thing is the geometry of the coffee holder. I am happy with this quality. My RoI in having a good coffee machine that costs in the 500 bucks range, is as such actually surprisingly quick.
Have any of you tried the Indonesian coffee that’s made from a wild cat’s poop?
I had it on my shelve for about a year! A friend presented me with a small pack. I couldn't manage to work up courage to try even one cup. None of my guests were interested too. Actually some of them were offended by the very idea. Sent it to garbage, eventually.
Is it any good?
Is this one able to ground beans ?What you need for a good espresso is a question. I got mine from Lidl some 15 years ago or so, something like this for about 1/10th of what you paid. Ah, I see. No, those that grind the beans as well as making the coffee are a whole lot more machine than the little ones that just push water through grounds. Is this one able to ground beans ?

Sorry, I still do not understand. For pod coffee you need to buy a machine and the pods, for normal espresso you need a machine and coffee beans/grounds. The machines are a similar price, so the main difference is the price of beans vs. pods.Price difference on espresso machine plus beans?

Buying 250g of bean coffee (about 4-5 bucks) last me about one week, with my usual consumption being about 5 cups a day (so about 35 cups).
So at the same level of consumption, it's about 4-5 $ a week vs 17-18 $.

Mine cost ~£40 from Lidl. That $500 machine for you is gonna be closer to $1000 here.
Eventually it will pay for itself I suppose. I dont think we want espresso though. Two of them wife's awake late lol.
Hence why I do 2 pods generally.
We like flat whites but once or twice a wesk its still a "treat".

Mocha Java is pretty good and comparable to the African. I bought 2 pounds of Kona grown today while visiting a local grower and getting a tour of their facilities.Have any of you tried the Indonesian coffee that’s made from a wild cat’s poop?

Where have you been!!!I don't drink coffee. I do drink soft-drinks (eg coca-cola) which do have some caffeine. It is a mild stimulant imo.
