Does your favorite faction's ideology match your own

If you don't understand, this is what I mean. You like the Gaians because your an envoirmentist, or you like the Spartans because they outlook on life apeals to you. Or you chose the exact oppisite of you ideology.

Or do chose on random, or look at thier game avantages?

I usually just pick the race that will give me the best chance at winning the way I want to that particular time. I normally play Morgan or the University when I want to "out tech" the compitition (which is most of the time). Gaians if I want to over-run them with worms. Pirates if I am in the mood for lots of sea battles, etc..

I usually play with the gayans because their ideology is the one that comes closest to my own, otherwise I play with University which also represents something important to me.
Usually I try to combine the different social engineering possibilities to match something I believe in, because most faction leaders are fanatic in one way or the other, and that is something I don't believe in.

I usually play the Pirates, not because I agree with their ideology (I'm not sure what the Pirates's ideology actually is) but because I can win at Transcend about 50% of the time when I'm the Pirates.

Would agree with you on that one, but I can't stand Miriam when she's an AI... despite my beliefs she's gotta be consumed in my University Empire first... Unless I'm already playing her, then the University gets on my nerves and so on... sometimes I get a tad annoyed at the Faction Sterotypes.... hehe .

But in general, yeah the factions I tend to play share my general ideology.

Actually, I usually get along pretty well with Uni. Spartans are always weak in my games, The Peacekeepers are schizo, the Gaians are cool once I go Green, Morgans are good for trading stuff.

Not only do I play my ideology (University), I also treat others accordingly. I try to ally with the Peacekeepers, Gaians, Drones, and Data Angels, while attempting to wipe out the Hive, Believers, Morganites, Consciousness, and Planet Cult. I don't agree or disagree with the Spartans or Pirates, so I don't go after them, but if they mess with me, I make them regret it. Since both alien factions consider humans an inferior species (and generally treat us as such), I feel it is necessary to teach them the error of their ways.

Yes, absolutle! I play a faction that represents my IDEOLOGY, and its constatly a sturggle in my head...

I usually always play Jang for abiously for the ideology of the perverison of communism . Or Cybernetic Con, for the inhuman-technocracy(interesting history if you read it). If I ever want to be good guy, I play the drones.... they probebly represent the best of socialisitic eguiliarionism(spelling).

Oh and DBear , I take pleasure in gutting capatilist scumbage type factions like Morgans or the lunatic believers. While I become best friends with Free Drones/Spartans/Usurpers... or anyone with a *planned market* system.

I always play University (when I play, it depends). They have a tech advantage which ALWAYS outtechs the others so I either crush them all, or transcend. No ideology here. Just the benefits. (But I must admit I've always liked technology.)

Also they're the only ones I ever taught myself to play properly.
