What does everyone think about switching to Police State as soon as it's available?

We also get an anarchy-free second civic switch, maybe Theocracy -> Free Religion?

The war  is starting to hit pretty hard now, the MP required to keep it in check will be substantial.

I say we switch to it, then after the war pull out and go to Universal sufferage and use our $$ :)

I'm okay with a switch to police state - but I also think we should build Mt Rushmore, and consider using the luxury slider if necessary. But let's wait until we see how the  is handled by Police State.

lurker's comment: Switching to police state would be wise, though it'll also let everyone know we're in this until their end.

Ok so that is done now. Did we ever come to a descision and decided to wait for 1 more GP to run a golden age?

I tally three votes for Golden Age, one for culture bombing Wheelville. We should have the second GP from ParkPlace any turn now...

A golden age would be well-timed, if Piffle is thinking about backstabbing us :groucho:

3 more turns, we can use it on the 4th.

2 turns of :GP: creation but we lost 2 turns due to the anarchy

    That's great news

Between Police State and Rushmore, we will likely have taken care of the war  problems. Unless, of course, this Innovian adventure drags on. But the arrival of tanks on Transports should help substantially.

Can we build destroyers yet, or is that with Combustion? If we can, it might be worth turning off research for a couple of turns to get some cash to upgrade the Frigates.

lurker's comment: With the present situation I'd say golden age. Not for sure if you're counting lurker votes.

I think lurker votes should count - especially lurkers who wind up posting more than the majority of 'active' team members

Did we just revolt to Free Speech? I looked around, and the only mention I could find of a civics switch was going into Police State.

There's two turns left for the GP to pop in Park Place. Our odds are:
    41% GE
    30 GS
    16 GA
    11 GM

So our odds of not being able to start a Golden Age are about 1 in 6. Not Bad!

At this point I am confident we have enough troops landed to finish off Innovia, and motion (in the domestic thread) that all newly produced units go the our Western Shore to bolster defenses. (Mainland)

I also motion that we declare war on Piffle if thier ships start sailing our way and start sinking them with battleships.

Also our Un Rep (General_W??) should post that we vote to continue the game :)

    Which is more important:
    Combustion for transports?
Keeping our whales for as long as possible?

We can save up 2000 gold for speed-research of Plastics if we want to keep the whales for a while.

Sorry - I haven't opened the save for a long while... but what's our happiness situation?
If we'd doing ok - I'd vote to just keep up the tech pace and get those transports.

:agree: One way or another, we're in the final days now anyway.

    Will do :salute:
But I think they're already assuming this :)

We don't need transports yet... So I saw we turn off research until like dave said we can speed research to plastics. However we are going to be having a golden age in 2 turns :)...do we not want our :science: building boosters for that?
