Global Domination.....

I seem to be getting a couple of different answers to how much of the total world land mass needs to be within your boarders to acheive a global domination vicorty.

In the game, it says that it's 66% but on some of the posts I see 80%.

Q. What is the real percentage?

Q. Does any one have any idea on how to find out the percentage the AI thinks you have in your boarders?

It is supposed to be 66%. It always looks to me like it is more... but I don't have an easy way to mearsure. You could count all the squares, and do your own percentage... a bit tedious, but possible.

Count your squares. Hit F11. Look at the 'land area' stat.

Now, find the area of the total map. Recall the percentage of water/land you set when you created your map. Do some arithmetic. Voila, you have the pctage of land you control. And if you do it early, not many squares to count, and you only have to find the area of the map once for each type of map.

After that, all you need to do is hit F11 and plug in that number over total land area. It may not be perfect, but its a damn fine estimate.

All well and good,. But what happens if you choose random map settings, which is what I do.

I still reckon that in the F11 screen there should be a parenthesised (bracketed) percentage of landmass in your empire
