How long will this be in signups/preparation? I'm about to start a mafia game in a few hours.

I will set a timeframe for orders and stories [on the thread] a few days after I deem that I have sufficient players, with this timeframe being around two weeks from that time before I start writing update one. That said with the first update I may be able to accept applications even after I have set a date depending on how far I have gotten into update. I will also ofc accept applications in subsequent turns if people become interested.

As for what Tolina said about NES's, I would urge people to give it a shot before making pre-emptive judgements before the game has even started. Not like I was one of the gm's he is referring to whose games perished in the crib.

Hello, another NESer here advertising a new project, a galactic empires game inspired by Stellaris and fond memories of previous forum games: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/daftnes-vi-of-light-and-dust.654779/

In my recent projects I've had problems keeping up with detailed maps and graphics. This one is intended to be much more about the worldbuilding and storytelling, with more fluid rules and more freedom for creating a race/empire...

@Thorvald of Lym I really did love the player races in that game. But I think too many rules and graphics and arbitrary limits, that not only got in the way of player's creativity, but also made it super slow for me to update while also having a job.

Always feels bad to look back at projects I couldn't keep going. But I still find myself being drawn to running forum games. Hopefully I learnt something from the failed attempts.

You'd be welcome to take up the Rozu in my new game, or with your permision I can have them appear as an NPC?

I'll think about it. I'm coming out of a cold and I've gotta crunch for NC's game so I'm not at my participatory sharpest right now. :p

One week until the 10 year anniversary of IOT, y'all. Who else feeling old?

IOT is like my sole tether to 17 year old me. It's what keeps me feom feeling even more old.

As you well know I'm often trawling the old games, and sometimes Young Joan and Modern Joan feel like different people.

I'm not sure it's good that it only seems so "sometimes".

I would certainly hope after a decade, with most of us having joined this as teenagers, that the bulk of us would feel like different people. :P

Some of us still have the same usernames from back then.

I've been a member of TWC for like a dozen years at this point and not once have I changed my username on a forum.

Tak play IOT? Lies.

You accuse me of lying. Only on my bed, sir, only on my bed.

And the sofa.

SHAME!

I'll admit I'm somewhat surprised the board hasn't seen a spike in activity; what with how everything everywhere is slowly but surely being shut down, I'd have thought we might have a few weeks of everyone sitting around the computer engaging sunup to sundown like the good ole days!

I've already planned on that. I downloaded the entire volumes of almost all of Drowtales and their filing system is fecked up so I'm thinking it might be best to just read it on their website after all. :crazyeye:
Otherwise I have several games, strategy and/or rôle-playing, that need catching up with… as well as the ever-present DotA to play and, once Lent is over, Civ3.
