I was playing my first game on the 4th difficulty and easily beating the AI, with yields 2-3x higher than their best in all categories, more artifacts, factories, science programs, etc.

I wanted to do space victory. As I had already completed the factory one, I saved and won the economic victory for fun. Reloaded to complete space race instead of economic, only to find out the Modern age ended after 95 turns and I was like 10 turns form launching to space. So I won a score victory, how lame!

For now I guess long ages is the only way to avoid the game ending before the victory.
I will send them some feedback, that the modern age should always be long, fixed turns or something. This is really silly. Of course, I probably could have been faster as it was my first game and I was freewheeling. But this should not be the case.

My first game ended very depressingly with a score victory as I had normal age length on and had absolutely 0 idea economic victory required influence and not just gold and was sitting at 0 with -10 per turn. I didn't have a far back enough auto save to build Manhatten and project Ivy as I also met the conditions for those. I'm in my 2nd game with prolonged eras and I'm currently on the last science project but also trying to build Manhatten and launch a nuke before the score victory sets in.
