Doughnut or Donut?

Which of these words describing the delicious dessert do you prefer, doughnut, or donut? Most doughnut shops these days shorten it to donut, which the spelling isn't as professional looking as doughnut.

Please discuss. I personally prefer the 'doughnut' spelling varient, it's classier, it is the truest way to spell it, and that form came first. Enough said.

I like doughnut but am not bothered by donut.

Apparently the spell checked in Firefox doesn't like doughnut, though...
