Hello, I are new in CFC. My eenglish not very good but got question!
Nah, just kidding! :D My English is freakin' sophisticated but nevertheless my question is pretty crucial (well, atleast for me). How the heck is it possible to invade the soil of the Independents in RFC? I encountered much too many the situation that an Independent's city is just guarded by a lonely Longbow Archer which I could easily crush and invade the city which is blocking the culture of cities of my own. Yesterday, I played as France and a couple of turns after my spawn, Rome collapsed. I thought that'd be a great chance of taking their virtually undefended cities but I even couldn't enter their areas! About 20 turns later Germany invaded Mediolanum with all her wonders! Please post me an answer to my question or I stay a sad panda!:(

just move a unit into their territory, a popup will ask you if you really want to declare war. Pick yes and you are done :)

But exactly that's the problem: If I try to move a unit into said territory the access is just denied. And without the means of entering the land of the Indies there'll be no pop-up to provocate any military action. It's not like DoWing on a "major" civ which has no OB with you. Simply crossing the border sparks war but for me exactly this isn't possible when I feel like conquering Indie's land. So is there any action to do to evade this "closed border" problem?

You have to use the numpad. 8 is up, 4 left, et cetera.

Wait wait wait... that's all?! Just using the number pad instead of the mouse? Cuz it seems that's the same thing. When I try to click the direction arrow (or whatever it's called in English) inside the Indie's territory the unit just doesn't move to the appointed tile where I want it to go, it doesn't move at all! I'm gonna try your suggestion though, if you really think that will solve it

You right click, you don't push Go to > Tile.
You just right click over independent territory. I have never used numpads.
There is a screen that says,
"Would you like to declare war?
-Yes
-No
Note: You can always sign open borders"

But you can't sign OB with the AI.
Test that out and see what happens.

Using either a right click with the mouse or the numberpad should both work. Left clift with the mouse would not unless you were already at war.

Well, problem solved. I played it alongside the forum waiting for ideas and the click over the Independents territory with the right mouse button just did the trick:)
THX and have a nice day, y'all!

Another way to do it is to just enter worldbuilder and change the diplomacy through there >_>

That's correct, but opening the WB just for one fraction of a second allows you to sneek out the enemy, and I know I couldn't resist this oppurtunity:lol:
It's considered cheating and I'm a good boy

Now if you will excuse me, I've got some slaughtering to do...:nuke:

@perceval: no, I'm not a native belgium. My mother tongue is German. But I'm living in your beautiful capitol for about a month now.

I've found a few spelling, grammatical, and stylistic mistakes in all of your posts so far in this topic. =P My English isn't perfect either though, most people's English isn't perfect, so I'm not going to be an asshat and correct you.

Und, was machst du hier in Belgien?

Yeah, well, my English is getting everyday better now, since I'm living now here in Belgium. I'm dependant on it because the German of my co-workers sucks:D, and it's the only way to communicate with them so far. Was ich hier in Belgien mache? I got work in a prison as a guard. That's right, I moved from Aachen to a foreign country just to find a decent job. I'm not complaining though, I'm taking french classes now and slowly getting better.

some country it is, brave little Belgium ;)

PS: @Perceval: the majority of the Belgians speaks Dutch, not French, altough a lot of Flemish can speak a bit French, please don't give the world the impression that Belgium is a French-speaking nation.

Hercule Poirot already did all the harm. :(
