    EDIT:

    Welcome to Dr kossin #21.

Dr is an acronym for Daily Round. Yes, I mean to get in an update every day to the games I will be playing. Of course there might be some days where I can only play a little or not at all, but I will make up for it those other days when I do have extra time on my hands.

Previously, I had been using maps that had been verified for isolation or semi-isolation. I have terminated that practice as, while a common sort of map, it doesn't entirely reflect the reality of gameplay and was a big hint that there were at least 2 civilizations nearby even if you started on an island by yourself.

Since I have become more-or-less comfortable on Immortal, the goal of the series is now for me to move even beyond Immortality, into Deity grounds. Hopefully, readers will also be able to pick up a few things here and there to alleviate their own playing.

The next game could possibly be on Deity level but I still struggle there so maps would require some verification.

You, the reader, can help me achieve this goal by pointing out where I got astray, give suggestions on how to proceed, use complex abstract mathematical analysis to argue, curse at me or anything that you may like. Please note that you must respect the Terms of Service of CFC in any case :)

You may shadow this game and post it here if you please, but I kindly request that you put it in spoiler tags and that anyone reading the report abstain from using information found there to help me out.

Should you want more clarification about something I've done, just ask for it and I will try to answer as best as I can.

Enough talk, on to the game.

    Game settings
    Immortal

BTS 3.19 with BUG 4.2 in CustomAssets and BULL 1.0
    Everything else is normal.

    The leader, this time, is:

Please refer to the Aztec Civ IV wiki for more information on this leader/nation.

After playing some turns, I decide against playing this map as it just seems a bit too strong. The original post is spoilered below.
    Spoiler :

    The start:

    Brief fog analysis

In place looks fair enough. A pity the 3rd flood plain can't be claimed easily (2N ->more brown tiles).
Production looks okay with 2 hills and the Ivory camp.

Ag>Mining>BW unless we uncover animals requiring AH.

The scout has a few options:
north - to see if moving 2N has any value
south - unfortunately we'll only see tiles we'd get by settling in place unless there's a hill. Even then, unless there's a very good reason to move (gems, riverside corn, pigs) it's kinda moot point.
east - assuming we settle in place, starts exploration.

    The new start:

What's not to like here? Maybe a little bit too brown but the plains hill makes this a fast start. Plenty of hills for production and nice river systems. With only 1 resource visible and 2 flood plains, there could be something hidden or a strategic resource in the BFC.

Trust the map generator. 2 FP, corn and ivory looks fun. Phants later on if need be. chance of another resource down south I guess. Would 1W be iron or a resorce?

I'd settle in place. This is another one of those weird map starts which place a river just next to the start spot, but not so close that you get the freshwater from it.

I played a bit from the start.

There are a lot of resources nearby and a large river network. Moreover, there are 2 easy chokepoints to block that will let me peacefully settle 12+ cities.

I'm not sure I'll go on with this game...

Yes, I was referring to not getting freshwater from the lake, though. :)

Edit: Kossin you can save the wb file and convert it to deity if you want.

I might do that for an offline game. I think I'll just generate a new one and go with that.

    Hmmmm.

This map is also freakishly easy?!?!?!

Ok. Screw this, I'm starting over on Deity tomorrow. Time to get beaten back down to reality I guess.

Here's what I get when I try to open this file, like a lot of others that are posted:

Is there an update I need to install?

IIRC, 302 ,301 and so on are save versions. In short you need latest path 3.19 which is free and comes with nocd...
