Same here. Alcohol is not even good tasting. I wouldn't drink even if I were of age (aside from perhaps some social drinking every once in a while - but never enough to get drunk or even tipsy). Why people want to wake up with hangovers and not remember half a night in addition to destroying their livers, I have no idea.

Alcohol is nasty. Besides I don't have very high tolerance. After 8 little shots of Vodka, I couldn't stay balanced on the court. The basketball started to teleport.
8?!?!

that's a lot no matter how you shake it!

little known fact (i care not to provide a source):
Skyy vodka is made w/ the least amount of sugar of any of the major vodka brands; hence, it's less likely to cause a hangover of which sugar is a main ingredient for.

Good to see some people posting here that can resist the hype and make their own choice not to booze!

Trying to put a good taste into liquor is just stupid. That's why vodka is good; they've accepted that it sucks, and they don't try to change it.

We infer you drink vodka undiluted?

I too took an online test that said I probably was an alcoholic. Considering that at the time I had not touched alcohol for over a month, I did not invest any considerable amount of confidence in the test.

I prefer to think that I make my own choice TO drink :mischief:

screwdrivers are good for the vodka fan, then again half-and-half may produce an overly drunken state.

All it requires is OJ.

Now go study, underage alcoholics!

Hey I'm 23 damnit and when I started this post it was only the second time I've ever been drunk. The first time being a week ago.

God, I don't remember life before alcohol, I grew up with it. It was a more acceptable beverage than some sodas. I believe the first time I got drunk was during an ice storm with my mom when I was 11.
I really resent the automatic prejudice that because I grew up around alcohol my family is trashy or uncaring or otherwise "bad". Alcohol has just always been considered something a parent should share with their child in my family; going back generations the first time a Callahan got drunk it was with their parents. People think we're awful because of this. Well, fact is a realistic attitude taken by parents toward alcohol in regard to their children makes for more responsible drinkers later in life. Kid is gonna drink eventually, better he learns how in the safety of the home than in the back of a car with some dumbass teenager at the wheel.

You grew up in an anti-soda house as well?

I think the first time I had a coca-cola was in the tenth grade or later.

So odd, the rules my mother had. "Is that a Mountain Dew!? You cannot have stuff like that! If you're thirsty I'll make you a chocolate milk!" A normal enough quote, except that in my home "chocolate milk" meant (and still means) straight Bailey's. The first time I had real chocolate milk in 1st grade school lunch I was sorely disappointed.

You'd think all the booze would kill off brain cells and the entire family would need in-home care by now. . . I have a sister working on her pre-med Philosophy and Molecular Biology double major, a sister getting her PhD in Shakespearean and Jacobean literature from Kings, and I'm working on pre-law. My young cousins are all in accelerated learning programs or prestigious colleges. None of my adult relatives make less than 6 figures, and most either went to Ivy League schools or skipped college entirely, entering business and succeeding at 18.

My theory is that the alcohol works to kill off the weakest brain cells first, leaving only the strongest and most capable to continue functioning. Survival of the fittest.

I know Aussies have this stereotype about drinking anything with alcohol it and... well... it's true! For me and my mates it is anyway. I'll drink anything except for Sambucca only because it taste like licorice and I HATE licorice!

I don't get drunk that often but lately beer has been the culprit. To many bad experiences when I was young involving cheap rum. At various times I had as my favoutie drink

bourbon
rum
sambucca
absinthe
vodka

My new theory is buy the expensive micro brewery beer. spent more and drink less. A good night for me involves around 6-12 beers and I'm usually sober at the end of it (depending on how fast I drink them).

Alcohol. Pssh. The first and last time I tried it, I got a bloody Migraine.

For me, Alcohol = migraine. Its not worth it, no thanks!!! Even if I could drink it, i wouldn't. I have seen the effects. Besides, its expensive, and I'm cheap and lazy! i mean really, I could spend that money on my addictions, like Vanilla Pepsi, and Chocolate!!!

Ya, I get it from my Dad, he gets them sometimes, and they are bad, and I mean bad . . . I have been told that its kinda rare from Alcohol though, especially since its the only thing that I know of that I get migraines from.

Imagine the worst headache ever, and multiply that like a thousand times over several hours. Ouch. 2 words: Never Again.
