I like his idea of changing leaders by era, but not about changing Civs, also I would want 2 leaders per era, so that human player can choose.
For example, it can go like this:
England
Ancient Era - Angle (made up)
Classical Era - Arthur/ Merlin (fictional)
Medieval Era - Richard Lionheart/ William Conqueror
Renaissance Era - Elisabeth/ Henry VII
Industrial Era - Victoria/ Cromwell
Modern Era - Churchill/ Elisabeth II
Atomic Era - ?/?
Information Era - custom one created by player
Russia
Ancient - Rus (made up)
Classic - Rorik/ Gostomysl
Medieval - Vladimir I/ Alexander Nevsky
Renaissance - Ivan Terrible/ Peter The Great
Industrial - Catherine II/ Stolypin
Modern - Stalin/ Kerensky?
Atomic - Brezhnev/ Gorbachev
