Earth 1000AD and The Medieval Age [BtS]

I just uploaded v2.50 it adds tons of new stuff check it out on page 1. I also updated the Readme so it is actually accurate! :thumbsup: Enjoy and don't foget to post your feedback! :king:
 
Er... OK, DLed thenew file, but got a CTD when trying to load the scenario.:( (Hope I'm the only one...)
 
One quick thought for the next version (if there will be one?) Would it be possible to add a scroll bar to the score board? Or maybe change it so that the lowest scores disappear off the bottom instead of the highest overlapping with the buttons near the top?
 
One little bug i just noticed, the buildings info has no culture values on the build screen.

Yes I'm going to get Zebra 9 to write some python to fix that! :goodjob:

Been playing as France on and off for a while now (quite fun!) and have only two minor comments:
- Plague Cure (works very well now!) Civpedia gives "TXT_KEY_..." instead of actual text
- noticed Bear, Lion and Wolf(?) in S. American Jungle (Panthers are there and even Indians are still being discovered; perhaps replace w/Warriors, Archers?)

I'll fix the text problem! And the animals are being placed randomly with very basic instruction but I might make it place some warriors and Archers!
 
This is a very nice mod :) Although this is worrying me

I renamed the Danish to Norwedians

It's somehow proper, but in fact all Norway did offensively during the Viking ages militarily was to attack Ireland. They did otherwise explore the North Sea and reached Vinland etc, but that's not the point.

I think you should consider adding a Danish civ beside the Norwegian one, where the Norwegian civ should be a vassal of Denmark. Denmark and Norway was united at the time, and it's not without reason that it was named the Danish North Sea Empire which covered both much of England and Denmark with Norway in Danish possession. Sorry for nitpicking, and I think it's annoying quite a bit since you already renamed the nation, but it's either rename back or include new civ imho :)

I'm still downloading though. ;)
 
Well I was going to add a Danish along with a Norwegian and Swedish Civs but the Danish were ruled by the same ruler (Sweyn) but I could rename them the Danish and put their capital in Rib! I'll have to research before I come to a conclusion because I don't like just adding things based on peoples opinions unless I know for sure that what they say is provable! :thumbsup:
 
How do I install this scenario? Is in the public maps as usual? thank you

Download the file to your C:/program files/civ4/beyond the sword/mods (or similar) folder, unzip the flie, load the 'Earth 1000AD v2.50' mod, click single player, then 'play a scenario' & choose 'Earth 1000AD v2.50' :)
 
Doesn't work Navy Seal. I unzip on the right folder and the only map that appears was "earth 1000AD", but wasn't your map. I tried to open from the folder public map inside the "earth 1000AD v2.50" mod, and i got an error "failed to read worldbuilder file". Any sugestion?


note: Which program do I use to change civ names and units? I could only create maps and insert downloaded units in civ III, don't now how to do it in civ IV.

The Danelaw, as recorded in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle (also known as the Danelagh; Old English: Dena lagu; Danish: Danelagen), is an historical name given to a part of Great Britain in which the laws of the "Danes"[1] held predominance over those of the Anglo-Saxons. That's because Norway wasn't independent by then, but divided into different fiefdoms from (Sweyn of) Denmark and Sweden, with Denmark holding the largest parts. (You can check by googling Sweyn Forkbeard, where the Danelaw is also mentioned and explained in full.)

When you are installing the .exe make sure you put it in your (My) Documents My Games Beyond the Sword MOD's directory. Then after you've installed the scenario by using the .exe you should be able to load the game click "Advanced" then "Load a MOD" then click on Earth 1000AD v2.50 then it will restart then go to the Single Player section if your not already in it, then click on "Play a Scenario" then select the one that say's "Seal's Earth 1000AD" then it will load the map up and you can launch a game playing as whatever civ you pick! :thumbsup:

And for the editing the game part of yopur post I would recommend checking the tutorial section!
