Here is a huge Earth map (taken from 1000AD BtS scenario) remade for the Erebus realm. Minor terrain changes and addition of specific resources. 15 civs, all playable. Attention! It is made for the current FFH2 0.24 BtS conversion beta and i am not sure it is good for vanilla civ.

Starting positions are not of the same value but all are acceptable. Difficulty and speed is up to you.

How did you choose what civ to place where?
I think the lanun could do better in the SE Asia as there's so much unused space there and more islands than in Europe

Well...

On the one hand, it is known from the FFH lore that Lanun are on the north of Bannor Empire making them troubles in ocean trade.

On the other hand, Lanun resemble Vikings as sea raiders - pirates, so I gave them Scandinavia. I do not know any specifically pirate civ in SEA.

That were the reasons.

I had three objectives: 1) follow FFH lore 2) make Earth historical parallels and 3) make it playable. I suspect, all of them are completed imperfectly.

Yeah, it is exceedingly difficult to balance all three considerations. Making Earth parallels, in particular, will limit the scope of your creativity. I noticed that most of the starting locations you placed did not differ from the starting locations of the standard Earth map. As such, you are limiting yourself by not improving and using such areas as Northwestern Africa and Australia.

Have you playtested the map? The Middle East seems way too crowded.

No, i did not. And yes, Middle East is crowded, it is also a historical-political parallel and a way to enforce Elohim-Sheaim conflict. :) Not all the starting positions are of the same value and maybe need different difficulty level. I imagine something like AD1000 scenario with some premade infrastructure but it needs too many efforts  .

Is it possible to give some AI different handicaps? The human player can of course take a different difficulty level but if an AI with overpowered start would overrun the weaker AI's even if the player gets some bonus. If only one AI can be handicapped then making a historical Ffh2 scenario would be far easier without having Khazad conquering the world on turn 10.

Positions for capitals are more-less the same. Difference is mainly in expansion perspectives. And even in expansion everybody have a chance of success. In any case early conquest on the huge map with continents is hardly possible. And weaker always dies, sooner or later.

As for historical scenario... that is what I have no now. :( Only the map with starting positions.

P.S. In the final version Lanun start in Britain, not in Scandinavia - I just forgot. Well, English pirates and capers are even better known. ;)
