The East Asia Mod testing thread

Introduction
This is the testing thread for the East Asia Mod by me. The mod is inspired of similar mods like MEM, AD and WH. I've always felt that Far Asia was not well represented in the civ area, so this is my attempt to blow in some new winds to the community.

What to expect?
Here is a basic list:
  • 21 unique civilizations
  • 8 different religions, each with specific advantedges
  • many unique improvements and wonders
  • 3 biq files, one random map, one realistic and one bonus for a different kind of gameplay
  • new pcx graphics not released before
  • tons of flavor units, and some specific special units too
  • 5 different culture groups (as usual), the new divisions are: chinese, north-east, nomadic, sout-east and indian. Each with their own cities and citizens.

Check it out. I'm composing a page of screenshots from the mod.

Can be found here!!!

What to look out for?
Anything! The mod should be bug free, so no crashes. But how well does the ai play? Who is overpowered? What could be done to make each civilization more fun/challenging to play? What works well, and what doesn't? Are the nomads overpowered? Etc.

As always when testing, game reports and screenshots can make the difference between a good and a great mod.

All suggestions are welcome.

What still needs to be done?
Drum and Bell Tower needs graphics
Incense Manufactory needs graphics
Mandate of Heaven needs graphics
Eightfold Path Victory condition is not working, currently disabled
Most civilizations are missing the historical part of the civpedia work
Shri Sammet graphics are missing
The Guard unit should use the unflagged animations
Citizens for the nomadic culture group are yet to be added
Burma, Nanzhao, Sri Vijaya and Vijayanagara are still missing proper leaderheads
Annam Swordsman and Bugis Warrior are missing graphics
Great Harbor graphics missing
Palette issues with Mughal, Kara and Kambujadesa PCX
Typo in Goryeo civilopedia (called Indus)
Typo in fæat terrains civilopedia mines cannot be build.
Majapahit LH prob
Zhou Spearman offset
Great Granary civpedia requirements
Red Fortress spawns wrong unit
Missing tech tree arrow for Mysticism

Apart from the Eightfold Path, these things do not really affect gameplay in any way.

If I forgot you (and I probably did), just post and you'll be added. ;)

Yep, and I kept the deadline, you don't see that often around here. :D

Oh by the way Antiochus, if you are up for a few male leaderheads I could certianly use them. :)

Great. :)

I'll be heading for bed now, but tomorrow I'll dig through and see if I can find any good pics.

I'll check it out, on the missing graphics let me know specifics and I will try to help out.
@Balthasar I believe he zoomed out to 25% then took screenshots of different areas in the editor and then edited them together in graphics program.

I'll DL it first thing this Weekend!!
Sadly I'm a bit :( swamped with work as the Moment...

I played a little with the Khmer, Sri Vijaya and Kara Khitai and I like it a lot already, the real world map feels great and early balance seems good (but ironically I didn't do all that well with Kara Khitai ). The volcanoes on Sumatra were a lot of fun, I think I'm going to play Sri Vijaya a lot. Some quick notes:

Great Harbor graphics missing
Palette issues with Mughal PCX
Typo in Goryeo civilopedia (called Indus :))

Now I just need a leaderhead for Sri Vijaya... :mischief:

looking forward to checking it out...

may i ask the size of the map(s)?

thanks

Tremendous work, Yoda. How did you get the screenshot of your map?
As BadKharma said. I took four pics and edited them together. :)

I'll check it out, on the missing graphics let me know specifics and I will try to help out.
You can see in the first post whitch graphics are missing. It's mostly buildings that I need, but actually I'm missing a few wonder splashes too.

Thanks, I'll add those to the list. There are a few more buildings without proper graphics I forgot to add write about too btw. Though most buildings have their correct graphics. I just hope Ogedei shows up soon and start making stuff again. ;)

looking forward to checking it out...

may i ask the size of the map(s)?

The real map is 120x144. The Oasis map is 100x100 and the random is... well random. ;)

Leaderhead requests
Spoiler :

Sri Vijaya:
Finding pics is very hard, and there are none of Samaratuga, but here is what I have:

Anyway use some thai and indonesian stuff for inspiration.

Nanzhao:
And even harder with Nanzhao.

Vijayanagara:

Burma:

Timurids:

Yo, I'll check this one out tonight!

Hurra! Good to see you back Ogedei. Though I was imagining that the Drum and Bell Tower should be combined into one building.

It is one building. I just named it "bell tower" to shorten the file name. ;)

This structure is based on Bosingak, the drum and bell tower of Seoul.
