I've intended to do 3d Japanese, Chinese, and Korean city sets in Bryce for quite some time, but never got around to actually making them. In any case, as I'm aiming to get more things done for my slow-progressing mod, I might as well start now.

The first are representations of Sengoku, Azuchi-Momoyama, and Tokugawa Period urban architecture. The building designs are based on images of Japanese architecture from paintings and woodblock prints dating from theseperiods.

Varwnos is already making a Japanese set so my work might as well be superfluous.

In any case, I will have three versions:
1. Pre-industrial
Era 1: Jomon -> Yayoi
Era 2: Asuka -> Nara -> Heian -> Kamakura
Era 3 + 4: Sengoku -> Azuchi-Momoyama -> Tokugawa

2. Ancient to Industrial
Era 1: Jomon -> Yayoi
Era 2: Asuka -> Nara -> Heian -> Kamakura
Era 3: Sengoku -> Azuchi-Momoyama -> Tokugawa
Era 4: Meiji -> Taisho

3. Complete
Era 1: Jomon -> Yayoi
Era 2: Heian -> -> -> Tokugawa
Era 3: Meiji -> Taisho
Era 4: Showa -> Heisei

The pagoda in the example below is just a placeholder; I will make one that is more representative of the period later (the Kofukuji pagoda was built in the Nara period, not in the feudal period).

Looks nice :)
You could try having some generic buildings, and fewer special ones in each set. This would help save time as well, but overall looks better imho.

Generic is the exact thing I'm attempting to avoid as much as possible. But seeing that there's no interest in this, I'm putting it on indefinite hold.

As am I, damnit! ;)

No seriously, these have much potential, and I personally can NEVER get enough Japanese city sets (that goes for your's as well Varw). One tip I would give is to "meat" the city up a bit more. Make some more dense buildings here and there, so that it feels more like a bustling populous center. Other than that, the architecture is beyond words man! :goodjob:

Oh wow! These look stunning! Great to see your buildings being put to even more use!

This looks great! :goodjob: Always a good idea to use your own buildings in citysets. :) They... I don't know, they always match better. :)
