Well, *I* think it shouldn't pose too much of a challege for our skilled unit creators.

I'm suggesting a BOULDER! A great big boulder or several of them, hurled from a mountaintop onto the unfortunate enemies beneath. I'm envisaging that this could be an immovable unit which functions like a cruise missile, that is, a single shot which destroys it. So all I'd need is the default animation and the attack/death in one.

Does anyone feel up to knocking it together? I'd post a picture but I suspect we all know what a boulder looks like.

How bout' this? I don't have time to animate, but I will be glad to post the model for someone to animate, it wouldn't require alot of skill.

Ooh ooh, complicate it by making a giant hurling the boulders, like in the Hobbit!!! :D

It's a boulder. It therefore suits my requirements perfectly.

If one of our resident animators can give it a bit of life and smash it to bits in a suitably dramatic fashion, I'll be very happy!

Heres the model and the "Granite" Texture. Feel free to change the boulder any way you want. It took me longer to find the texture than to make the model. :goodjob: to the person who completes this unit.

And up it bumps... I see that someone's downloaded the model. Does that mean we could be rock and rolling soon?

Alas - *koffbumpkoff* - the thread descended to the dark abyss that is Page 2 with no more responses. Maybe Spart himself is my only hope, if he ever does have time!

Well, despite three people apparently downloading the model, I think no-one wants to animate it! Which is a shame as I could very much do with such a unit. Ah well...

Well, quite. You'd think it would be easy! Although perhaps making it shatter would be trickier - I don't know...

TAM has pot with boiling oil to throw over city walls. Thought that might interest you if your interested in siege mechanics.

The AI doesn't handle immonile cruise-missile type units very well, but I suppose that won't surprise you.
