Economy and City Management Office

Office Administrator: Lord Civius

Discussions concerning the economy and city management should be held here. This office is not exclusionary and is open to all Citizens of Goldenhorde.

Economy and City Management Office 3400 BC Report

Treasury = 110 Gold (Reserve Cophers)
Total Commerce = 10

Capital City of Babylograd
Commerce
Research(100%) 10
Espionage(0%) 4
Gold(0%0 0

Current Build = Barracks (35 turns)

Suggested Build = Chop a Worker then Chop a Settler (23 turns)
-Our current treasury can fund early expansion without sacrificing our 100% research rate. I suggest we settle an early second city to grab the Copper Resource to the NorthWest. We should research Wheel (13 turns), or Agri -Wheel (2x13 turns) as roads will be needed to hook up the Copper.

Alternate Build = Warrior (22 turns)
-Our worker could build 2 Mines (13 turns) while we research Agrigulture (13 turns), to then build farms needed around Babylograd.

I like the idea of switching the Barracks to a Worker and then onto a Settler. We have good growth potential, let's get that second city up and running. Either way on research for me, Roads or Farms. Both are good.

Agriculture for sure. I also like switching barracks to chop a worker then settler, but that would leave us totally undefended until about turn 50. Is that wise?

What is the location of all our defenders? Can we bring anyone back quickly?

All we have is a worker and a scout.

It is very early in the game and I see little need to concentrate on defense until we hook up the copper. Perhaps one Warrior to escort the worker/settler if the Tsar wishes to be cautious.

Good. That's what I was thinking. Play it a little loose and get that second city up. Then we can build the second and third (at the second city) warrior.

Do you think Coppack should go on the desert just East of the Northern Lord's Peak?

That final 's' may be the ideal location for a city but it will keep copper out of reach until we find some way to expand our borders. With that in mind it may serve us best to settle on the 'e'. Hooking up copper is probably our highest priority right now.

I made a mistake in the research department thread, I thought the floodplain was a freshwater desert :dunno: . Now that I am aware of that I think I like either of these starting locations. If we choose Mysticism (2 East,1 North of the Copper), if we choose Pottery (1 NE) of the Copper.

I would like our workers to road that hill then farm some grasslands in Coppack.

How having Babylograd grow to size 4 (10 turns I think) then bust out another worker and settler. In the mean time I think we should do some scouting. So I'd focus production on warriors then send then out fog busting. I think it's too late to bother with any scouts.

I want to discuss Coppacks city specialization. The rule of thumb is to (in most circumstances) make your second city a production city, then your 3rd a commerce city. This allows you to utilize the capital as a settler/worker farm after max pop.

So should we make Coppack a hybrid city, with a couple farms, a couple if cottages and a few mines?

My recommendation would be to make Coppack a Production city and concentrate on pumping out units to scout and escort and try and get a Wonder or two. Then still following the Russian River, a 3rd city south of Babylograd or NW of Coppack (if we have IW) would both be great locations for cottage spamming.

Please give me some feedback on this important issue I will weigh the suggestions of all in my decision.

Coppack as a production city sounds good. But I thought our 3rd city was going to be established at the mouth of the Russian River in rememberance of the Haiti earthquake?

the discussion was not about putting it 3rd. We know that sometimes we will establish a city on the sea, the name is already chosen. In no way my role was to dictate the location of the third city.

For Distance to palace reason i'd settle south of capital then on the sea right after to cut the Egyptians (yellow civ) from getting across
