Heya Mem,

The problem is just with the art work (the ancient tech screen) (in the art/advisors file, it's named science_ancient.pcx.

Assuming you've put the patch on you can change the techs in scenerio.bic's without a problem now. However since all .bic's share those same art files, you have to change it for each game...
meaning if you use the civ3.bic, modified you have to go in, redraw the arrow lines (from tech to tech) to reflect where you put the new ones you just put in.

Sorta a nasty thing you have to do, figgerin' out the corridinates (the X & Y thing in the Civ Advance editor) (this tells the game where to show an individual advance on the screen,

So the process is Change the tech, decide where it goes, go into the Science_Ancient (or other era's they're all there) redraw the line for your game.

Of course if you want to play a regular game you have to reinstall the originals from your backup (never mess with art files (or anything without backing it up) (though that is redundant to tell anybody but sometimes we all forget) or you'll get your modified Science_ancient screen.

However, as far as I can see and have tested it doesn't mess anything up, except visually. You do need the patch released awhile ago to get new techs to work in Scenario .bics, though they work right if you just use the civ3 without the patch.

Hope this longwinded reply helps :)
