I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, so Mods - please have mercy on me if it isn't. ;)

I also did a fair amount of searching, and after coming up with little result - I decided to post this request, so thanks for being patient.

Editors - I have two. One Conquests and one other, what's the difference?

I have a map put together that seems to work ok, but I can't find the area where I can allow scientific great leaders.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Anybody? I can't figure this out for the life of me.

The custom map works and launches just fine, but the scientific leader option isn't checkable nor is it activated - and I just can't find anywhere in the editor (both for that matter) where this gets activated.

It's probably something simple that I'm overlooking and is right in front of me.

Any help would be appreciated.

I know virtually nothing about the editor so I might be totally off...

But, you know there is an option to allow / disallow SGLs on the new game setup page right? It's on the same page where you pick your civilization and where you can set what type of victory conditions you want, etc. This maybe irrelevant for custom scenarios, no idea because I never play custom scenarios.

EDIT: after re-reading your second post, it seems you know about the check box I referenced, so ignore what I wrote. Sorry I can't be more help.

Ok, thanks for the replies.

It's sort of driving me nuts, it should be a slam dunk. It's not an option to check in the game rules section, it was like it was eliminated.

I tried downloading and running the patch, but all that did was screw up the game and I have to uninstall it and reinstall.

oi vey.

Greetings, Sweetchuck. I am assuming that you have Civilizations 3 Complete. If you do, you have an editor for Conquests which generates .biq files, and one for Play the World that generates .bix files. The editor that you are looking for is the Conquests one, which is the most recent editor. The Play the World editor will generate scenarios that run under Conquests, but will not have the Science Great Leader. I will check on my Windows box game editor later today and try to let you know the exact place to look. I have been playing around with it some, and have the Great Library and Newton's University set to produce Science Great Leaders on a regular basis. Some might view that as a bit excessive, but I am having a lot of fun playing around with the editor after finally setting up a Windows box for editing, as othewise I am on a Mac.

I do have a really squirrelly editor for the vanilla version of Civilization for the Mac, but aside from now dealing with pink triangles since I upgraded to Tiger, its stability leaves a lot to be desired.

Post deleted, as it seems the correct answer to the question in post 1 of this thread had no value for the civers here. :p
