    Egypt and China look like natural enemies. Imagine both go for the Wonders. China will hate Egypt for building Wonders, Egypt will hate China for having weak military.

    The list of natural enemies:

    Egypt <=> China
    America <=> England

    Seems fun.

    America and England are only enemies if they start on different continents. Teddy won't care quite as much if Vicky started on his continent and is making wars elsewhere.

    America and England can get along fine if on the same continent.

    I am assuming they didn't connect Britain to America in TSL. Or would that be very unrealistic?

    Ah my bad, I did not check movement left since they moved multiple chariots just 2 spaces. That's on me! Thanks :)

    I never play real Earth maps, so randomly shaped continents with random combinations of civs is my mental default. Therefore, I never make assumptions that two civs will start together or not.

    I think Earth map was fun in the original civ, where I could conquer a city or two with my settler at the start of the game. In later civs I didn't play on Earth map.

    How much culture/faith will you get from Sphinxes? The tooltip says +1 culture +1 Faith for a spot that has two adjacent wonders, which seems wrong, but maybe that is only the base yield and with the boni it would have been +3 culture +3 faith?

    I like the new Egypt, its wonder bonus is a lot more interesting this time and also applies to districts which is equally important.

    The UU seems boring though.

    while floodplains are still likely to be a feature on top of a desert hex (ala civ V version of mapmaking) the UA seems to suggest that no one else can build a district or wonder on a floodplain.

    wonder wise that probably doesn't matter much due to terrain/etc requirements, but for districts it may be another matter.

    We'd have to know the difference between this UU and the unit it replaces.

    The UU is probably very early, hence the simplistic bonus, and it's probably mostly for protecting against barbarians. Hopefully the movement bonus stays with the unit after upgrades and you have faster mounted units for the whole game.

    That would make it a lot more intresting, and kind of a nod to later Islamic mameluk cavalry.

    Nice catch. Note, the narrator doesn't say what the "bonuses" are if the sphinx is adjacent to a wonder, just that they get them (plural). So maybe not tile yields but other effects.

    Agreed.

    I have a feeling that Faith and religion may play a larger role than in Civ 5. The Sphinxes may be a fast track to a religious victory depending on how other civs build faith. The Celts and Byzantium were both good building faith quickly and perhaps we may see a return to that mechanic.

    I assume tooltip gives basic output, without Wonders. Just incomplete thing. Most likely it should display 1+2

    I don't think we're meant to feel excited about Egypt's conquest capabilities.

    Ahh, I needed that video fix. Now we know that these videos are made the day before. I expect this week's mechanics video to be on Friday.
