How about 300? I want my custom avatar.
EDIT: Or can you just disable my personal post count? So it can be at, say, 300 and never grow past that no matter how many posts I make?

Nope, floppa asked about that in the past; but could only get his PC to be reset manually to zero each time. PC will still be counted.
Maybe with vB 3.0...

Ahh, yes! Time for another "Hide the postcount" thread!
We all know it is eliteist yet some people with high postcounts (and some with moderate but fastly increasing PCs) cry "unfair" whenever it is suggested again. Face it folks, most the people that care are the ones who spam the most, and that has to say something. It's not even as thought I care about spam personally, just when it enters a thread where it ruins whatever debate is going on...

@ anarres: Only now its the opposite - someone with a high postcount wanting it eliminated.
Looking at that number reminds me of how much time I spend here; I don't like it.

Just get rid of CGannon's post count, it's good for him because it won't be as high, and it will be good for me because that's just one less obstacle in my goal to be spammer numero uno!

Um.. you said to get rid of it right? So why have 300 in the first place? Just get rid of them and let anyone have a custom avatar.

Or keep the 300 requirement, but hide the post counts so no one can see how many anyone else has.
Not that I care. I never even paid much attention to post count back when we couldn't even have custom avatars, and which avatar we had depended entirely on our post count. I didn't think it was important then, so it's even less so now.
Which would partially explain why I've been here nearly three years and have only just reached 900 posts. I can't seem to bother posting something when I just don't have anything to say. If I cared about post count, I'd probably spam now and then just to raise it up. That's why I think it's good that I don't pay any attention to it.

Although I'd much prefer a no-post count, everyone gets an avatar forum. I see no point in making a custom avatar requirement.
You can ask TF, but I doubt it. Floppa's PC was 'restored' after some months - TF wanted the PC to reflect everyone's 'true' PC.
Imagine all those tens of thousands 0 PC guys uploading their custom avs and then disappear...

I support being able to have a custome avatar with only 0 posts. It has to already be online, and you give the URL. Once you reach 300, you can upload one to CFC. Otherwise, use something already online, or upload one to another site. Don't you think that would eliminate a lot of "Must post a lot to get my avatar" spam?

But that way you could still just upload the avatar to the upload server here at cfc. So it wouldn't decrease the problem.
I agree postcount should be hidden. It's a meaningless statistic.
As for custom avatars, be glad you can have them at any point. I remember when they first came up, TF didn't want to allow them, as they would detract from the "civvish" feel of the site. In that, he was, and is, correct, but they have been here to long to do away with them.
