Eliminating pollution from population?

What does it take to eliminate pollution from population? I'm not fond of the whole pollution/global warming thing, and I've gotten rid of pollution from industry. However, I'm still getting pollution from population, even though I've tacked on the supposed fix to several different buildings....

You can never eliminate polution from populations

The best you can do is to reduce it to 1 by building Mass Transit

Well there is a way to reduce pollution from population. You have to use civedit to change the effects that some of the improvements have. For example, change the effect that aqeducts and hospitals have on pollution. This helps quite a bit.

I wasn't aware that aquaducts and hospitals had any effect on pollution, aside from allowing population to reach a point where it starts polluting....

What he mean is, you can go to the editor and make these building also reduce pollutions

Mercinary- Yes, Shift-P cleans up pollution that is already there, but they are talking about preventing the pollution from getting there in the first place.
