Here is a poll for you to vote the final game year, instead of 2100 CE that is default.
The main reason I'm making this is for Mastery Victory that seems require Time Victory to be integrated in. Personally I dislike Time limitations so I coded into my game my preferred extended date. However, there may be other players who want the same thing so I'm making a poll and then after we get feedback, we can get Afforess or me to make a module that extend the final date for Mastery Victory, found only in Afforess' pack.

So Vote and Coment :D!

Download Area:

So far:

I have AAranda's Eternity Gamespeed up to 2500 CE. More to come later during the week.

Extract to Modules. Don't worry, if you have Afforess' Universal MLF Loading file, you should be fine.

Additionally, go here to get the rest of GameSpeeds tweaks that ends at 2500 CE.

I'd think it might be more appropriate to end at least in 3000 CE. Although if you had it up there, I'd think that if you could expand the transhuman era just a little more, then maybe more like 5000 CE. Heh, I like long games. That's why I play on snail all the time.

Questioning your opinion...

The final tech should be done with in what year? Future Tech, I meant.
After I figure out the agreed upon final date of that tech,, NOT game end date, then it is a simple process of tediously matching turns with the specific gamespeed's research time. After that, I will just add one month increment turns till 2500 CE or 3000 CE, whichever is voted most, easy as that.

Reason I ask is because we want the years to roughly match eras first...

it is a simple concept but a very tedious task :). I don't mind as I'm a fanatic of Civ4 after all :lol:.

As an example... if 2100 CE is the agreed upon end date of Future Tech, then for marathon speed it is 1500 original turns plus 4800 new turns from 2100 to 2500, that equals into :eek: 6300 turns!

I will start with my own opinion... The final date according to my extensive reading of science fiction should be about 2200 CE because I strongly doubt we can get advanced stuff to work (if they ever become a reality) by 2100 CE.

I voted for 2100 CE, since I am not a fan of fantasies running too wild.

I would assume that we roughly could be able to anticipate what will happen during the next 90 years, but anticipating what will happen in 300 years? Come on!

Anyway, I am fully aware that I might be the infamous minority, so take my comment just as my 2 cents (EUR, of course :p)

So you believe all of transhuman era techs will be done in 90 years? If they really will be done, it's gonna take longer than that, I am pretty sure. See what people in 1970 thought of the year 2000. Not as much has been changed, as it was anticipated.

Well one thing that changed was the music, though. Not to the better, I think. Here is some sweet old stuff if you like...

I really have no idea as I've barely made it past 1900 before I ran into problems like slowdown or CTDs.
Could it be made selectable at game startup? A discrete selection like the one in the poll would be fine.

Can you expand on what you mean?
Thanks.

I'm talking about the Custom Game setup screen. We can choose btw. different map sizes and different speeds and a lot of other stuff in popup menus. Different end times may be viable as well. But that section of the interface may not be moddable. An alternative is the list of options which you tick on or off, which is definitely expandable. A few options, like the ones listed at the to here would probably be fine - and more manageable.

I don't know about these but I think I will just release two different versions.

  • One will be the game ending at the final tech research or soon thereafter, like the default does but better scaled (hopefully!)
  • The other would be the one that ends in the extended end year in order to allow players to play toward Conquest inside of Mastery Victory. Ofc, if they don't conquer the entire world by 2500 CE or 3000 CE, they would probably never do so :lol:.

Hello, I just updated the first post with a new download. It has a Eternity Gamespeed originally by AAranda revised to scale better with techs and ends at 2500 CE.

Do all gamespeeds end at 2500 CE, or just Eternity?

All gamespeeds WILL end with 2500 CE in this thread's download.

But if you are asking what is available now, only eternity is available now. I need to do boring autoplay for the rest of them.

Hello,

Finally got the Snail GameSpeed turn increments up to 2500 CE. After I get the Marathon speed turn increments, I will upload inside my OS79 modmod pack. The other thread have a separate future download for people who prefer to stick with 2200 CE. My pack will include the one that ends at 2500 CE.

For these who simply must have the code now, here it is:

Code:
			<GameTurnInfos>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>108</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>600</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>24</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>600</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>36</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>300</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>12</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>300</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>3</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>600</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>2</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>3300</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
			</GameTurnInfos>

The Marathon turn increments tweak should be done with sometime this week, so expect the final download this weekend at the latest.

Any chance on adjusting all the gamespeeds for 2500 CE?

All? Wow... For now, Marathon and Snail...
After Marathon, if I have energy left over, I will do the rest of the gamespeeds.

If you can update them all, I can include it with the Mastery Victory. ATM, Mastery Victory is worthless since it ends so quickly.

Gotcha. Had a short nap, and now am energized :). After I am done with marathon, I will post the codes here, then continue on to Epic and the rest of them :).

Marathon turn increments code:

Code:
		<GameSpeedInfo>
			<Type>GAMESPEED_MARATHON</Type>
			<GameTurnInfos>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>408</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>150</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>48</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>400</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>48</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>200</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>12</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>300</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
				<GameTurnInfo>
					<iMonthIncrement>6</iMonthIncrement>
					<iTurnsPerIncrement>1400</iTurnsPerIncrement>
				</GameTurnInfo>
			</GameTurnInfos>
		</GameSpeedInfo>

Note: Tweaked the Snail Gamespeed above.
Also, this thread is decided on to end at 2500 CE and the other thread at 2200 CE.
Now on to Epic Gamespeed.

The final module download will be inside my OS79 modmodpack :).

Tweaked Marathon code. It seems that:

1. You can't have months/turn that mathize out to the year and a fraction (3.5 for example), unless it is a year or less...

or

2. In the BCE phase, the game don't know how to find month if the next months/turn change the month...

Either way, it was a bug I am very happy to discard of. So check out the new tiny tweak above :).
