I have decided to post an end-of-term report for this term, which has been very productive.
In 720 AD, when the term started, we were an unremarkable nation. We possessed 26 cities, and five nations existed on our continent (including us). Even Egypt had some real estate on our continent, though we took care of that during the first turnchat. We were a distant second to Persia on the histograph, and the Zulus weren't far behind us. Now, we have the entire continent under our control. We have 95 cities and a rapidly growing histograph score that is already over 200 more than Persia's.
This term, compared to the previous ones, has been a very militaristic one. Our first turnchat saw a bit of conquest as we occupied three Egyptian colonial cities on our continent. At the end of our fourth turnchat, Russia foolishly decided to attack us two turns before Military Tradition. We hurredly upgraded knights to cavs and eliminated them with the first cav war in our game's history, taking roughly 15 turns to take them out. The conquest of Russia started a chain of events that resulted in us occupying the entire continent. Babylon was our next victim, taking only a half dozen turns to eliminate from the map. India fell next, followed by Germany. In just four turnchats, four civs fell to Fanatican military might. Even halfway into this term, conquest victory or indeed victory at all seemed uncertain. Now we are by far the most powerful nation in the world, and it is only a matter of time before the world is united under the Fanatican flag.
This was also a fruitful term on the home front. At the start of this term, we didn't even have Invention! Now, we're researching Combustion, and tanks are on the horizon. We have progressed from the early Middle Ages to the beginning of the late Industrial Age. Our total number of Great Wonders rose from 0 to 11 (including captured ones). A number of new cities were founded or captured, and our total number of provinces that can be governed rose from five (only two of which were really important) to ten full provinces.
I may not be the best DP (I was scolded repeatedly by both CT and tao [primarily the former] for my worker actions and MM among other things), but this term sure accomplished a lot. CT also deserves credit for playing one full turnchat and a significant part of several more.
Overall, this has been a great term. I am glad to be the Term 4 president, and I wish my successor Furiey a good Term 5. With luck, we may even accomplish conquest victory before the term is out.
