I don't know if anyone who can fix the mistake will spot this message amidst all the others, but here goes;

The unique building for Norway/the Vikings is the stave church. According to Civ VI info this is a large stone cathedral with wooden corner posts. In fact the stave church is made entirely of wood and need not be particularly big, small parish stave churches still exist.

You're right, and actually the (usually) small size of the stave churches was what made the church in Norway tear down a lot of old stave churches or leave them to rot. Because in 1851 a new church law stated that the parish church should have room for at least 30 % of its members, and thus the stave churches were often too small and also hard to upgrade, so the easiest sollution was to build a new church instead.

Of probably more than 1000 stave churches in Norway, only about 25 exist today.

What makes stave churches special is indeed the construction method, a self-supporting shell made of wooden post (staves).
Imagine shipbuilders making a church and you're not too far off...
