Error: Runtiem has ended this apllication in an unusual way

I get this message after i start playing certain games, i know it isn't big maps being it occurs at random times(coudl be i suppose). I after this message i get oen saying my video memory is low, but i have it decked to full and the game running on low graphics (i have a ATI 9600 all in wonder)


I have attempted many different methods of fixing the runtime but to no avail.


Has anyone found a fix or knows of a fix to this?

The All-In-Wonder cards are not built for gamming - thats where the slow down comes from, and ultimately the crashes. I suspect you will be crashing on large late game maps, and Big maps. Possibly even on late game standard maps.

The bigger the map - or later the game - the more objects it has to track, in 3D games this puts a big pull on the Video side of life.

Have a look at the thread below. You need to reduce as much as possible the load on main & video RAM. Your used pagefile is high at 378Mb, so you have a lot of background programs running. You need to reduce those as much as you can to free up main system RAM.

there isn't much i can turn off besides some ATi stuff, otherwise its my Anti-Virus, and MSN messenger which i already have off at start up

Lots of work there ... interpret for your setup. What it trys to do is reduce the load on your system to free resources for Civ.
