I offer these personal Game Play notes in order to help anyone that may not be aware of some details that they can do.
Rather than serving as a detailed Game Play Guide, I hope you can Extrapolate some other ways to play from this information.
Much of this is pointed toward details concerning the Survivors Faction but most of the other information can be applied to all Human Factions.
... Yes, this is VERY Long.
Build what increases the chance of Leader appearance.
Build Sewer Tunnels as soon as possible.
Use Lethal Shooting units and Champions and gain more Champions.
Invisible Units will help you Greatly, especially just after capturing a Zombie Building.
Use your Invisible Units to Kill Coffin Zombies that Unearth around your Building Tiles but do not allow any of the Human Factions to Run into them or it will cause a War. Best way is to place the invisible Unit then surround him with Visible Units. Then the Zombies will Try to Unearth where the invisible Unit is and die trying.
... Remember that Zombie Dogs detect invisible units so keep them at least 2 tiles away from your invisible unit so they do not see it.
When playing as the Survivors, I usually place Champions on the Skyscrapers on both sides of the Radio Station and add more as needed to prevent the Zombies from Capturing it.
Same thing for the Police Station and City Hall. This way you can go after other Buildings and then when you are ready, you can allow the Zombies to capture the AI Buildings you are Guarding then Capture them.
Keep Cars available within distance that can pick up a Great Leader and take him to a building for Upgrade to another Champion.
Right of passage with Farmers and Authorities.
1st Move as Survivors- Use Scraps 1st to Kill the Zombie on the Road by the Retirement Home then Kill the Sewer Guard with Scraps. You have a very good chance of gaining 1 and even 2 Infected Dogs.
Capture the Coastguard right after the Zombies capture it by moving Vuldacon to the small house next to the Coastguard when the Game starts. Start 2 Infected Dogs toward the same small house so you can use them with Vuldacon to capture the Coastguard your next turn. Take the Super Coupe into Hannibal's Place and Load 1 Handy Man and drop him off with the other Handy Men with King Arthur. Move the Super Coupe back into Hannibal's Place and Load Hilton Smith and Clive Owen. Use Mr Tokugawa to Kill the Zombie next to him and then move Mr Tokugawa to the House with Spam above Tokugawa's Home. Move the Super Coupe with Hilton Smith and Clive Owen into Tokugawa's Home. Move Hilton Smith to the House with Coffee resource and shoot a Zombie. Shoot the Nurses or Roaming Alpha Zombies with Clive Owen. Set to Build the Shino Shrine. This saves Tokugawa's Home. Because Both Clive Owens and the Super Coupe are both King Units, the Super Coupe will defend because it is stronger. Usually the Zombies do not attack because they cannot beat the Super Coupe or Clive Owens. So in the mean time, you move all 3 Handy Men to Repair the Street where Mr Tokugawa was. Place Fuji to Guard them. Move the 1 Handy Man in Hannibal's Place to start Repairing the Street with Craters. Use the other 3 Handy Men to finish that work on their way back after Repairing the Street where Mr Tokugawa was. Grab the supplies with units and take them out then back into Hannibal's Place and place Units around to guard against Zombies and Coffin Units. Take the Balloon out and start revealing the Map. Be sure to contact the Authorities and ask for 76 Supplies for Cola. Ask Farmers for 57 Supplies for Cola. I do not offer anything to the Company because I will be at War with them the 2nd Turn when I capture the TARDIS and If I traded Cola for Supplies that would last 20 turns then Go to war with them, that causes the AI to dislike your sneaky tactic. I use Miss Tokugawa to shoot the Sewer Guard and if she fails to kill him, Ranger can finish the Task and Guard the Manhole. Zombies Love to Use their Coffin Units to Pop Up on Manholes. this is because it is a Resource.
I always go to War with the Company because I capture the TARDIS turn 2. Then I capture the Dog Pound and make peace with the Company and give them a Manhole or Cola so they are Happy with me.
You can use good timing to build Mike's Auto Shop by Repairing the Street between the Garage and School that has Tools. To accomplish this faster, Load the 1 Handy Man and 1 Civilian at the Garage into the Rushmobile and drop them off on the Tools then move the Rushmobile 1 more tile toward the School and have the Handy Man at the School go to the Rushmobile and load. You then drop that Handy Man off on the Tools so Both Handy Men can Repair that Street. Then take the Rushmobile toward the Skyscraper on the right side the Church. Kill the Zombie Blocking the Street on the way. Move Reverend Simmons to the Skyscraper on the right of the Church and also Move Charlie to the same Skyscraper to defend the Reverend. You can load both Charlie and Reverend Simmons into the Rushmobile the next Turn and take them to the Garage.
While on your 1st Turn, start the 2 Handy Men at the Furniture Store repairing the Street with the Couch. When they finish repairing that street move them to the Skyscraper toward the Garage. You first pick up the 2 Handy Men on the Tools by the Garage and take them to the Garage and Upgrade them to Engineers. Then move the Rushmobile tto the Skyscraper in front of the 2 Handy Men from the Furniture Store. You load those 2 Handy Men and take them to the Garage and Upgrade them to Engineers. Yes the Upgrade costs more because you have not Built Mike's Auto Shop yet but it speeds building Mike's Auto Shop because Engineers work faster than Handy Men. After Upgrading the 1st 2 Handy Men you have them Repair the Street next to the Garage with Spare Parts... you can then Immediately Build Mike's Auto Shop if you have started the Garage building a New Head Quarters one turn before. You simply change the Garage to Build Mike's Auto Shop after the Engineers repair the street that turn. Used with good timing, this technique of starting to Build a New Head Quarters then switching to build something else speeds up the build process. OK, then the Other 2 Handy Men you Upgraded from the Furniture are loaded into the Rushmobile and taken to the Manhole nest to the Garage. Set them to Repair the Street and you will be able to Build Sewer Tunnels. If you set the Furniture Store to Build a New Head Quarters 1 turn before the Engineers Repair the Manhole by the Garage, you can build the Sewer Tunnel at the Furniture faster.
I am certain everyone Knows how to gain Sam Hammer and the TARDIS on turn 1 and turn 2. You will find the Hints on the Description for the TARDIS Unit in the Civilopedia.
I capture the Hospital then Graveyard then Paradise Resort. I build as many Engineers as I can to add to Captured Buildings as well as Clear Pollution and Repair Streets. When you Shoot all units in a Building, Shoot the Population down to 2 so when you capture the Building it is size1 and much easier to Make Happy by providing as much entertainment as possible and placing as many Units as you can in the Building. It is best Not to add to the Population until the 1 population is content. Most of the time this only requires 1 turn. Then add to the Population, Clear Pollution, Repair Streets and building a Sewer Tunnel. At Paradise Resort after building a Sewer Tunnel, build the Nerd Club then Paradise Voyage.
When you can build Cruise Mines, use them to Attract the Giant Zombie Squids and when they come, 1st use the Cruisers to Bombard them then a Cruise Mine to Kill them. By starting early with Cruisers and Cruise Mines, you should be able to Kill most of the Giant Squids and especially when you gain a Voyager. There are 50 Giant Squids so best to Keep Count of what you have killed. Kill the Devil's Reefs around the Coastguard and as many as you can that are placed toward Jungle Island.
When you have Killed almost all of the Giant Squids, you can take All Cruisers and the 1st Voyager, loaded with 5 Badasses, to Jungle Island. Take as many Cruise Mines as you have and place them all around your Ships and a few along the way. IF there are still a Few Giant Squids remaining, they will go after the Cruise Mines and you can then Use Cruisers or other Cruise Mines to Kill them. Stay 2 tiles away from Zombie Buildings you are Bombarding so any Lethal Bombarding Zombie unit cannot Bombard your Ships. Keep Ships in a Stack to help against Zombie Bat Bombers.
When your Cruisers and Voyagers have Killed almost all Units in Jungle Island, Offload a Couple Badasses so you can Capture Jungle Island the next Turn after Bombarding the Population down to 2 the next turn.
Continue on to Adventure Island and Kill Devil's Reefs along the way.
Note that when the Docks is captured by the Zombies, you will be better off to capture it as soon as possible because your ships will have 2 more moves as well as preventing Dark Sky from activating at Zombiegeddon.
While accomplishing these tasks, you will be helping the AI and dealing with other areas and capturing more Zombie Buildings.
Naturally, you will want to Build Arthur's Sniper School when you can.
After I capture Paradise Resort, I immediately go for Snorkel Beach then Head for North Shore Industries. I line up Road Warriors around the Wild Boar Inn (Right of Passage with Farmers) and toward North Shore Industries so the Farmers and Zombies cannot Block my moves. This allows me to Take Great Leaders back to the Garage to Upgrade to Champions any time I gain one. Load Leader in 1st Road Warrior and take to the next Road Warrior and so on. Return each Road Warrior to its 1st position to prevent AI blocking the streets. Gain and take as many Champions as you can to Help you Shoot and Capture North Shore Industries, then Immediately go for City Utilities then Sanitation Department.
Build The Chemical Factory, Oil Refinery and Acme Hazardous Transports in North Shore Industries.
Build the HazMat Office in the Sanitation Department.
You can Upgrade to the Steam Road Roller after you Build a Machine Shop in City Utilities when you reach Do It Yourself.
I generally go for The Yacht Association then Aerospace Center. Usually the Company has lost Sales and Marketing by then so I capture it then go for the Detective Agency.
Build the Detective's Office then The Security System. Sell all Security Cameras after Building the Security System. The Security Cameras will remain because the Security System places them in every Building you own. This provides a Great Deal of Supplies that will help you buy other Improvements you need faster.
Upgrade special Units and of course the TARDIS as soon as they can be upgraded. The TARDIS is most helpful by using it to transport Strong Lethal Shooting Units to spots where you need them fast. It also allows you to place many Units inside a Newly Captured Zombie Building to make the Population Content.
Playing as the Survivors, your Morale Boost starts when a Pyromaniac wins in battle. This is available at Do It Yourself. I recommend holding off gaining your Morale Boost until later because you will need it more then. I generally wait until turn 103 so I will have my Morale Boost through turn 133. This covers past Deadly Evolution turn 126 and the Domination is turn 140 for the Zombies. By this time you will have Great Power and Units. If handled correctly, you can have over 50 Champions as well as Snipers and your Special Units.
After Capturing Adventure Island, go after the Paratrooper Base abut Especially go after the Airport and White Sands Hotel to prevent Dark Sky 2 and 3.
You will need to watch the Nuclear Power Plant and help the Company there so the Zombies do not capture it before you are ready.
Before the Zombies reach The Omega, turn 112, start taking Lethal Shooting Units to surround the Research Center, building Fortresses on the Zombie Streets and Barricades on Streets you control. Start Shooting the Research Center every turn and add more Units as they are available to do the same. Generally, I place a Champion or Sniper on the Skyscraper above the Research Center when I go for the North Shore Industries and I shoot Units and the Research Center every turn from then.
...it will require many Shooting Units to Kill all of the Sated Alpha Zombies and all other Units in the Research Center so start early, plan and go for it. Naturally, the Research Center will have Omega Zombies when the Zombies reach The Omega so it will be tougher then. If you manage your Cruisers and Voyagers, you should gain Adventure Island around The Omega so the Annihilator will will help you Defeat and Capture the Research Center. The Major Improvements that the Research Center places in All Zombie Buildings will be destroyed when you capture the Research Center. This will only leave the Paradise Mortuary that also places many Major Improvements for the Zombies.
...IF you fail to Capture Adventure Island before the Zombies Reach The Omega, the Zombies will have other Improvements that will produce more of the Stronger Units. Example is Hornet Nest II will start producing Killer Hornets along with the Hornet Nests that Adventure Island placed in all Zombie Buildings. Putrid Rooms are placed by Area 14 at Adventure Island and Putrid Rooms II are placed by the Infected Morgue at Paradise Mortuary... so by capturing Adventure Island, you eliminate Hornet Nests and Putrid Rooms. Then you will only have Hornet Nests II and Putrid Rooms II to deal with.
...When you capture the Research Center, you will end all of the Improvements that were placed by Wonders built in the Research Center.
...for example...After you capture Jungle Island, Adventure Island and the Research Center, you will no longer have Colossus, Toxic Colossus or Killer Hornets. The Research Center also builds the Evil Advantage that places the Omega Houses in every Zombie Building, producing more Omega Zombies.
So you see the importance of timing and what Zombie Buildings are most important to go for.
The 2 Most powerful and most difficult Zombie Buildings to capture are the Research Center and the Paradise Mortuary. Those two Buildings are responsible for placing the Zombie Improvements that provide the Zombies with the most Power. Although all Zombie Improvements can be directly built by the Zombies, the AI does not tend to build Improvements or Wonders when at constant War and being attacked.
I usually end the game capturing the Paradise Mortuary last. This is because it is faster to Capture all others first and I always have Many Units and Power at the end. You can Kill all Units and Capture the Paradise Mortuary in just a few turns at the end due to having so many Lethal Shooting Units.
