i am so hoping that most of you will be disappointed on monday morning
on paper, spain is the clear favorite with their brilliant individuals and their tique taque style. it all depends on which players will neutralize each other or not.
podolski, if playing on the wing, needs to apply the pressure on sergio ramos. ramos was imo the best full back in this tournament, from both a defensive and offensive pov. hopefully poldi will take him out of the game and will be able to deliver some high balls to klose. same goes for schweinsteiger on the right side, while capdevilla wasnt looking as threatening on the attack as ramos. if we score, i think it's with a header.
but even if ger is able to take out spain's wingers, their central midfielder scare the hell out of me. iniesta - who looks pale as a ghost somehow- was so impressive when he played. always threatening to find that gap and play a deadly pass between the central defenders to find torres or villa.
then there is senna, who seems to initiate any attacking move and is overlooking the pitch brilliantly and anticipating so many opponents moves, before they could cause any harm.
as for fabregas, i dont know. maybe a bit too hyped, but still dangerous enough to outplay hitzlsperger or rolfes.
all in all, it doesnt look good for us, but otoh when was there a different situation?
i am glad we won our psycho matches against poland and turkey and hte victory against portugal was a great addition to that. finally a good euro from my pov after 12 years of waiting. anyway, bringt ihn heim, jungs
