Oh LR, cut the...and paste it! :) Anyone who speaks a language with a bit of old latin background, basicly all european languages, cept hungarian and suomi (can`t think of any other right now) could make a somewhat succesfull translation, i.e. name the things he is in to, and "information" is I assume "informatics" :)

Edit:There is a weird underline of the "languages" word (second row), showing some links to some sites... Do you guys see it? I`ve never had that before, it seems the uninstallation of Kazaa has been put aside for too long. damnit.

    Edit: now its gone... :crazyeye:

    Edit: now its back! WTF!?

Now I understand why my father (who teaches this) has a lot of books about information technology.

Progress has been slow, but I've been trying to add a few things here and there every day. I'm not going to post the tech tree or list of techs yet, since I don't really like it, and it's not completed. Suggestions for techs wouldn't be bad, though. Jorde is working on a Hungary leaderhead and I've submitted my vote for a Polish leaderhead in Shiro's leaderhead lottery. Go vote for it please :)

    Vote for Mieszko I here

I voted for him... twice! :)

i guess the tech tree would be kinda like the regular one, except with a more european flavour to it, eh?

are you thinking cultural techs, too? like the russians, polish, ukrainians and lithuanians get unique "eastern europe" techs, and the danes, swedish and finns get unique "scandinavian" techs, that allow them to build units or buildings that had historical significance in those areas?

for example, the scandinavians could be the only ones that can build a wonder called the "Viking Expedition" or something that gives +1 ship movement, but becomes obsolete at a tech around the time the vikings did.

or, they could all get access to the longboat at the same tech, a boat that does not sink in sea tiles.

this would give the game a bit of flavour and, if used well, make it historically accurate too.

    just an idea tho...

Definately being considered, I'm going to start working on it very soon. One thing I will eventually need is somebody to paint on the lines for me on the tech tree background.

Been observing the UU stats a bit ;)

The cataphract atm has 3/3/3 stats. The normal knight has 4/2/2. The cataphractoi were massively armoured and not very fast. I suggest that the cataphract has either:
-- 4/4/2 and costs a lot of shields
-- 4/3/2 and costs normal shields (like the normal knight)
--3/4/2 and costs normal shields (not much of an attacking unit, but difficult to destroy)

i would vote for 4/4/2, costing 100 shields (regular knight costs 70)

100 shields? That's the cost of a Sipahi!

The costs of Epic "cavalry" units:

    20s Chariot. War Chariot
30s Three Man Chariot, Horseman, Mounted Warrior
    40s Ancient Cavalry
    60s Keshik, Ansar Warrior
70s Knight, Rider, War Elephant, Samurai
    80s Cavalry, Cossack
    100s Sipahi, Tank, Panzer
    120s Modern Armour

Note in particular the Samurai - 4.4.2 at 70s.

I think it's dead. It was almost dead 3 times already. It's a pity, it might have became something nice.

    Here are Scotlands UU's....

    Ancient- Glaivier......................maybe pictish infantry instead
Medieval- Scottish Warrior.........yeah the iconic highlander
Industrial- ........The Black Watch. (use highlander rifles conversion as graphics.
Modern- ..........hard because they arnt independant now. Any british unit that the english arnt using as a UU(as they have equal claim to them).

    Here are Celtic UU's....
Ancient- Celtic Warrior 3/1/1 30 shields, requires no iron*.... Chariot would be more Iconic. Bebro made one.
Medieval- Gallic Swordsman 3/2/2 40 shields......A Gallic swordsman is ancient. A Welsh Longbowman or Irish Bonnacht/Gallowglacht would be better. (Kinboat made a great Gallowglass but it's misnamed. Gallowglachts fought with Danish longaxes, Kinboats unit is a heavy Bonnacht)
Industrial- Not decided.........Hard because the Celts werent independant in industrial times. Wild Geese were wide-ranging mercenaries with a good reputation. One of Stephs conversions should do as graphics.
Modern- IRB..................yes, or just something from the rish army. Winter did WW2 Irish infantry graphics.
