I find this contest genuinely exciting.
The Irish are back to basics this year with the traditional sounding band Dervish, a group I had the good fortune to watch live in concert last year. Very good then, not so good now IMO.
Dervish - They can't stop the spring
I think it's good, nicely flowing tune. Might get high points. It doesn't give away any of that teeth-grinding urge to win feel, like most songs.
This rates off every "corny" charts known to men. Kids painting flowers on a wall, the spring will come, yaddi yadda... It's so sirupy it would kill anyone with a little diabetes.
Yes, the video is indeed horrible, but it doesn't count on stage.
This tread is going to die...
That's why you keep it alive?
They're Swedish, that says it all about their sexual orientation.
Have you seen the Danish entry?
Or, for that matter, the results of the huge nordic comparative sexology survey? Turns out more Finnish males have a homosexual experience than Swedes.
Ola salo is bisexual...
Also Finnish Idols-winner said that The Ark plays gaypop.
I have no genuine interest in the ESC2007, so no.
Lies, lies! All lies!
So that's why he was so angry for being called making 'ye average Swedish homo-pop' on Finnish TV.
Even better though, the presentator of that show is gay as well.
Just a question - do some American stations broadcast it in the US?
At Eurovision, this year, we have a really, really, really, really, really stupid entry!!
Please tell me what you think about it!
(apart from the grammar in English )
Much much worse than what we had last year and two years ago (when we were third). However, after listening to what other countries entered this year, I'm sure we won't be in the last place!!
Nice, simple. I actually liked it.
All the finnish finalists... If you feel like wasting time. I already did by digging these from youtube.
Hanna Pakarinen - Leave me alone
Kentala - Left my heart behind
Katra - Tietäjä
Humane - Plane away
Thunderstone - Face in the mirror
Lovex - Anyone, anymore
Jan Wilde & Rose Avenue - Rock&roll dreams
Jukka Kuoppamäki - Levitä siivet
Johanna Kurkela - Olet uneni kaunein
Laura - Take a chance
Beats & Styles - See the signs !Warning! this is truly horrible!
Jani & Jetsetters - Musta sulhanen
I agree. Compared to the other songs, this is brilliant. Not saying much, but I can actually watch it without cringing and sorta enjoy it. Nice tune, pleasant voices, and interesting all in all.
If it doesn't make me angry right off the bat it passes the first test. This passed the second test too - I listened it to the end. Only the rarest breed of ESC contestants pass the final test - Do I want to hear it again?
Or Astarte? In either cases Greece would have been my favorite (no I have none).
Well, you have at least Celtic Frost
